Lesson 5. Як тебе звати?

Objectives:

to revise the letters ‘A a – Z z’;

to revise structure “My name is…”

to practice structure “My name begins with letter…”;

to develop Ps’ listening, reading and speaking skills.

Vocabulary: ABC.

Structures: “My name begins with letter…”, “My name is…”.

Materials: PB, puzzle “Ukraine”, ABC poster, ball.

Outcomes: by the end of the lessons Ps will be able to use structure “My name begins with letter…”, read some children’s names.

1. Warming up

Puzzle “Ukraine”

You can divide Ps into groups.  Give each group puzzles. Then Ps make puzzle. The group what finishes first and forms the correct puzzle is the winner.

2. Presentation

Ex. 1, p. 13 – listen, point and repeat.

Explain to Ps that they are going to listen to the audio, point and repeat.

3. Practice

Ex. 2, p. 13 – say.

Say Ps that they are going to say structure “My name begins with letter…”.

Exercise with Panda

Ex. 3, p. 13 – listen and read.

Explain to Ps that they should listen and read some children’s names.

Colour name

Hand out sheets of paper with names of your Ps and ask Ps to take their pencils and crayons. Tell them to colour their names.

4. Ending

Game “Hot ball”

Play some music. When music stops Ps who holds the ball should say “My name is…”
