Мета: вивчити нові Л.О. теми; повторити й активізувати Л.О. теми;   повторити граматичний матеріал: минулий простий час.; удосконалювати навички аудіювання; формувати навички читання та говоріння; розвивати ерудицію учнів; виховувати почуття патріотизму та національної гідності.

Обладнання: підручник, робочий зошит, портрет Т. Г. Шевченка, картки для самостійної роботи.

                                                Хід заняття

І. Підготовка до сприйняття іншомовного мовлення

1. Привітання

-Good morning, children. How are you? I`m fine. And you?

-We are fine too!

-How are you? I feel so-so. And you?

-We feel so-so too.

-How are you? I` m bad. And you?

-We are bad too.

2. Повідомлення теми та мети

Today we continue to discover our country. We’ll learn more about our national symbols. We’ll speak about the person who became our national symbol too.

3. Перевірка д.з. Ex.3 p.129

4. Уведення в іншомовну атмосферу

-Let`s remember, where were you in this summer? Let`s play a game ”Name the city of Ukraine”. I have in my hat letters of the alphabet. You take the letter and call the city or town of Ukraine.(Ex. I was in Odessa or I wasn`t in Odessa)

-I see you know our country well. Do you like our country? Let`s  remember the poem “You can go to the East”.

You can go to the East, you can go to the West.

But at home it is better, but at home it is best.

We live in Ukraine, a beautiful land.

It's home for me and you, my friend.

Its towns and villages are so nice.

The Ukrainian people are friendly and wise.

ІІ. Мотивація навчальної діяльності

1. Читання

1).  Подання тексту для читання

On page 131 of your textbooks you can see the Ukrainian symbols.

Учні повторюють вирази за вчителем. Вчитель слідкує за правильністю вимови учнями слів та відзначає найуважніших учнів.

 Look at the pictures of ex. 1 and say what the national symbols of Ukraine are.

2). Етап читання

 Listen and read the dialogue

1. Учні слідкують за читанням вчителя та читають діалог за ролями.

N.B. Якщо вчителю важко втримати увагу учнів, то можна поставити додаткове завдання: зупинити читання на будь-якому місці, назвавши ім’я учня, який продовжить читання. Після кількох прочитаних учнем слів вчитель знову продовжує.

 

2. Рольова гра  «Guide». Find the mistakes and correct them.

Учні опрацьовують завдання під час читання діалогу вчителем та однокласниками.

   1. The British National Flag is blue and yellow. 2. The blue colour stands for the clear blue sky. 3. The Trident is the Ukrainian National Coat of Arms. 4. The Ukrainian Anthem is “God Save the Queen”. 5. Khreshchatyk Street is the main street in London. 6. Every citizen of the country should respect the national symbols.

3). Етап перевірки розуміння змісту тексту.

Work in the groups.  You need to fill the table:

National Symbols	Ukraine	Britain
Flag(description, meaning)
Coat of Arms
Anthem

You need to fold puzzles to make the National Symbols of 2 countries.

If you are patriots and love Ukraine,

Clap your hands! (twice)

If you are patriots and love Ukraine,

Stamp your feet! (twice)

If you are patriots and love Ukraine,

Turn around and sit down!

3. Аудіювання

 Now guess which person played an important role in Ukrainian culture and became our national symbol.

Учні слухають текст та відгадують про кого йдеться в тексті.

  Listen to the text.

He was a man of universal talent. He was the Ukrainian poet, prose writer and a painter. All his life and creative work were dedicated to the people of Ukraine. The poet dreamed about the times when his country would be a free sovereign state, where the Ukrainian language, culture and history would be highly valued, and the people would be happy and free.

(Почувши відгадане ім’я Тараса Григоровича Шевченка, вчитель показує на дошці портрет поета).

4. Повторення граматичного матеріалу: минулий простий час.

1)To speak about this outstanding person we should recollect Past Simple Tense.

Бесіда: вчитель-учень.

• Яку дію показує Past Simple Tense?
• Які є слова-маркери?
• Які дієслова називаються правильними (regular verbs)?
• Що таке неправильні дієслова (irregular verbs)? Та де можна їх знайти?
• Наведіть приклад речення у минулому часі.

2) Закріплення повтореного граматичного матеріалу.

 Put the words in brackets into the Past Simple Tense.

Учні заповнюють пропуски дієсловами з дужок у минулому часі та читають по черзі.

I hope this lesson help you understand how important is to love your Motherland and your friends. I would like to ask you to do the following: love our Motherland, love our Ukraine. I`d like to address you with a short poem:

Love your dear Motherland,

Love it with your whole heart.

Love Ukraine when the days are happy,

Love it when they are dark.

Cherish your mother tongue,

Cherish your family root.

Never stop thinking of your parents

And make their life good.
