Lesson objective:

• to develop reading comprehension skills;
• to practice vocabulary related to the topic "Travelling." ;
• to encourage a positive attitude toward traveling and learning English.

1. Warm-up

• Greetings.
• Discussion questions:
  • "Do you like travelling?"
  • "Where did you travel last time?"
  • "What is your dream place to visit?"
• "Word Cloud" game: learners name words associated with travelling (train, plane, suitcase, hotel, map.).

2. Lead-in

• The teacher shows pictures of different means of transport (plane, train, bus, ship).
• Short discussion:
  • "Which transport do you prefer and why?"
• Introduction of the topic: today we are going to read a text about travelling and practice understanding it.

3. Pre-reading

• Introducing new vocabulary (suitcase, passport, ticket, journey, flight, trip).
• Teacher reads the words, learners repeat.
• Mini-game "Mime the word" (learners act out words using gestures).

4. Reading

• Reading a short text "Tom’s Trip to London" (or another prepared text).
• First, the teacher reads the text aloud.
• Then learners read paragraph by paragraph aloud.
• Tasks for the text:
  • Underline new words.
  • Answer comprehension questions (orally or in writing).

5. Post-reading

• Pair work:
  • Discuss: "Would you like to visit London? Why/Why not?"
• Complete the table "My Dream Trip":
  • Where would you like to go?
  • How would you like to travel?
  • What would you take with you?

6. Homework

• Read the text again at home.
• Write 5 sentences about your dream trip (using the text as a model).

7. Feedback and reflection

• Lesson discussion:

  • "Was it easy or difficult to read the text?"
  • "Did you enjoy learning about travelling?"
