Тема: At the restaurant

Мета: повторити вивчені лексичні одиниці, познайомитись з новими лексичними одиницями, тренувати учнів у вживанні нового граматичного матеріалу, навчитися ставити запитання, розвивати навички читання, самостійність, розвивати монологічне мовлення, прищеплювати любов до праці, виховувати почуття ввічливості, свідоме ставлення до навчання.

Словник термінів

• main course – the largest or most important part of a meal, usually eaten after a starter.

• dessert – sweet food that you eat at the end of a meal.

• drinks – liquids that people drink, such as water, juice, tea, or coffee.

Task 1.  Write the foods in the correct group.

Task 2. Complete and write full sentences:

1. My favourite main course is ______ because ______.

2. For dessert, I usually eat ______ but I don’t like ______.

3. In restaurants, I often drink ______, and sometimes I also drink ______.

4. Yesterday I ate ______, so I didn’t want ______.          

Task 3.  Correct the wrong statements and rewrite them.

1. Water is a dessert.

2. Pizza is a drink.

3. Ice cream is a main course.

4. Soup is a dessert.

5. Coffee is a main course.

Task 4. Design a menu for your restaurant. Write:

 • 3 main courses

 • 3 desserts

 • 3 drinks

Then write 5 sentences about your menu.

Example: In my restaurant, you can eat pizza as a main course. You can try ice cream for dessert.

Task 5. Write at least 6 sentences:

 • 2 sentences about what you would like for a main course.

 • 2 sentences about what you would like for dessert.

 • 2 sentences about what you would like to drink.

Use the pattern I would like… because…

Task 6.  Write 5 sentences comparing different foods. Use but, and, because, so.

Example: Cake is sweet but pizza is salty. Pasta is tasty and healthy. I don’t eat too much pudding because it’s heavy.

Task 7.  Circle True or False for these sentences.
