“The reasons not to be late for classes”

   In our life we all meet people who are always late. It is definitely irritating when a person is late for meeting. But what should we do if pupils are regularly late for classes. To my mind the most important is to explain reasons to young people why they shouldn’t be late all the time. There are a million reasons not to be late for classes, but in this essay we are going to speak about the most vivid.

   Classes and schools are very important in life of young people. I’ve heard from many of my pupils that they understand it. But why are they often late in this case? I think it’s because they neglect to make sure and plan ahead so they wouldn’t be late. They are very irresponsible.

   Another reason is that, when you are late you could miss very valuable things which can be useful in your further studying or work. Education is a very great gift we cannot abuse it. It will help you in many various ways & will last a lifetime.

   Being late to class also results in habits. If one is late for class once, he or she might be again. So it’s better not to be late at all, or at least very seldom.

   Creating a right schedule is just one benefit you’ll get from commitment to be in time. The pupils who study and teachers who work with you will use the class time more efficiently and will respect you more for that. You will develop your reputation for punctuality and reliability.

   When pupils are late they sometimes have to write an explanation and they could have troubles further on. In such situation I always ask: “Isn’t it easier to talk to your friends or do other stuff after classes?” I try to explain to them that they are young adults & they are totally responsible for their actions. They should learn their mistakes but not repeat them again. I do not ask them to promise that they won’t be late again, because things happen. We are humans after all. The only thing I ask from them is to understand my words and to try to be more responsible next time. Hopefully, it works… from time to time.

   Instead of the conclusion I suggest 10 reasons not to be late for pupils of our lyceum to discuss together:

1. Lose valuable class time
2. Miss out important events connected with your group & mates
3. Administrators check for late students (you could have really big troubles)
4. People accept you like an irresponsible person
5. Think of it like a job-if you’re late every time, you can be fired
6. Disturb other students who are in time
7. Can be forced to write an essay on why you shouldn’t be late
8. Could have bad marks
9. Teachers have a great amount of knowledge to share
10.  You should be responsible enough to be in time
