Rusalka

I am a spirit of the river. I live where the water is calm and the reeds whisper. Unlike the

mermaids of distant seas, I do not have a tail—my legs allow me to step gracefully along the

riverbed and the banks. At night I rise to sing

imageand dance with the moonlight on the waves.  My hair flows long and dark like water plants, and my eyes shimmer softly like moonlight on the surface. My skin is cool and pale, and when I

move, the water follows in gentle ripples.  I

welcome only those who treat the river with care

                                                                                                                                                                 and respect.                                               Mira, Anya,Nika

 Mavka

Mavka in Ukrainian mythology is the spirit or soul of a girl who died

imageprematurely, often an unnatural death. She is depicted as a beautiful girl with long flowing hair in a white shirt, living in the forest. Mavka can seduce men with her song and tickle the deathly

hallows. She is a symbol of heartache, the power of nature, and femininity
