Анотація:  У роботі подається конспект уроку з теми:”Winter Holidays”

для учнів 2 класу загальноосвітніх навчальних закладів в обсязі програми загальноосвітньої школи. Урок допоможе учням удосконалити свої вміння та навички у всіх видах мовленнєвої діяльності, розширити свій кругозір, збагатити свій словниковий запас, проявити свої творчі здібності, реалізувати себе як цілісна та розвинена особистість. Цей матеріал стане у нагоді вчителям англійської мови, особливо вчителям початкової школи.

Анотація до уроку англійської мови в 2 класі на тему : “Winter Holidays”

Урок відповідає навчальній програмі  «Навчальні програми з іноземних мов для загальноосвітніх навчальних закладів і спеціалізованих шкіл із поглибленим вивченням іноземних мов 2-4 класи»,  Типова освітня программа закладів загальної середньої освіти І ступеня, затверджена наказом Міністерства освіти і науки України від 20.04.2018 № 407

Тип даного уроку: урок формування умінь та навичок, а саме застосування знань і вдосконалення вмінь.

На уроці формується здібность учнів до здогаду (по контексту), аналізу, порівнянню, розвиток довільної уваги і творчого мислення; розвивається вміння орієнтуватися в звичаях і традиціях, пов'язаних зі святами в Великобританії, США та інших країнах; формуються граматичні навички читання, говоріння і письма.

Purpose of the lesson: generalization of knowledge about holidays, that are popular in the UK and the USA: comparison of traditions related to the celebration of these holidays in our country.

Learning outcomes: As a result of the lesson students will be able to:

• actualize lexical material on the topic "Winter holidays";

• argue and express their opinions;

• systematize knowledge on the topic;

• find similarities and differences between traditions and customs of their country and other countries;

• make a story about their favorite holidays.

Materials: (equipment of the lesson):

notebook, projector, presentation for the lesson, handouts, textbook: English 2nd grade, Nesvit A.M., Kiev, Genesa, 2012; work-book: English 2nd grade, Nesvit A.M.

I. Warming-up activities

a) Greeting (slide 1)

b) Doing the riddle

Teacher: Well, pupils, look at the board, please. Here is a riddle for you to do. There are some pictures. Here is a picture of “winter” and it will help you to guess. Name all the words in the pictures, take only the first letter of each word and you will read the topic of today’s lesson. For example, a hat – letter Hh.

Teacher:  So, what  key word have we got?

Pupils:  Holidays. Winter holidays

Teacher: You are right. (slide 2)

Teacher: Well, let’s play a game. Catch the ball and answer my questions. (slide 3)

Teacher: Now, friends, look at the board. Read the names of the holidays in English, please.  Repeat after me. (slide 4)

c) A Guessing Game  (the riddles about some holidays)

Teacher: I am sure you know something about these  holidays, now listen to me attentively and give the name of the holiday which I describe – guess the riddles.

Riddles:

1.               People decorate the houses with bright lights and ornaments. They give  postcards and gifts. Children like this holiday very much, because they always find presents early in the morning. (Christmas)
2.               People send special cards to someone they love. Usually they don’t sign their names. (St Valentine’s Day)

 Let’s look at these pictures and say how people in different countries celebrate winter holidays. (textbook p.110 № 1)  (slide 7)

Use your books to write how people in different countries celebrate winter holidays. You have 2 minutes  (exercise-book p.74 № 1)  (slide 8-9)

f) Group work

Teacher: Let’s work in groups. Every group gets the  list “What do you usually do at this holiday”. And the puzzle with the picture of the holiday. Read the words and do the puzzle. Then we’ll try to guess what holiday is it.

Lists:

  invite friends ,  bake a cake,  have a party.

give and get presents,  decorate the new year tree,  sing and dance

Teacher: Are you ready? Let’s check up. The first group, read your list, we will guess your holiday.

The children call the words and phrases they’ve learned at the lesson.

Creating a student's emotional atmosphere by doing an exercise - with the help of a cloud and a sun cards, the students answer the question: "Did you like the lesson?"

If they liked the lesson - the children show the sun, if they did not like it - the cloud. (slide 14)

Teacher: Now, open your day books and write down your home task for the next lesson, please. Let’s see what the task is. (slide 15)
