Procedure

І. Introduction (5 min.)

1. Greeting

- Good morning boys and girls! I’m glad to see you.

- Good morning. We are glad to see you too.

- How are you today?

- I’m fine (good, bad)

2. Presentation of the topic and the plan of the lesson

 The topic of our lesson is “Тhe House of my dream”. And we are going to visit Shaun the Sheep. He invited us to his house. So, we have to recollect the poems and words, read and speak about houses, flats.

3. Warming-up

Let’s recollect our poem “This is my room’’

This is my room.

It is light and clean.

The ceiling is white.

The walls are green.

Look at the window,

Look at the door,

Look at the ceiling,

Look at the floor. 

II. Main part of the lesson (30 min.)

1 .Vocabulary revision

Children, we have a special guest from the UK in our lesson today. It’s Shaun the Sheep, our pen friend from London.

 Hello, Glad to see you!

Children he has got a new big house but it is empty.

1. Let’s show Shaun the Sheep   that you are real experts and know a lot of about houses. Look at the picture and tell me what it is? (Pupils name the rooms and furniture appearing on the screen. Multimedia presentation is used)

2. Group work. 

Work in groups. Take the cards and match the parts of the words.

  1. You can have a rest, watch TV, read books there. What room is this?

  4. Shaun the Sheep has got a large bed in this room. What room is this? bedroom

2. Revision grammar material

At the previous lesson we spoke about using There is/ There are. Look at the screen and remember the rules. (Multimedia presentation is used)

6. Complete the sentences

8. Rest-time

Let’s have a rest. Sing a song “Head and Shoulders”

5. Speaking

Now, look at the house and describe it.

The house

This lovely house is not very large. It has got two floors. There are 5 rooms in the house. Downstairs, there is a small kitchen and a big living-room. Upstairs, there are 2 bedrooms and the bathroom. There is a swimming-pool on the roof of the house.

The living-room

There is a big living-room on the ground floor. There is one window with green curtains in the room. There is a fireplace in it. There are 5 pictures on fireplace. There is a plant on it. There is a lamp next to the fireplace. There is an armchair in front of   the lamp. There is a table in the room. There is a rug under the table.
