Урок № 3

Підтема: Пори року. Погода в різних куточках світу. Повторення лексики теми у вправах. Читання текстів про пори року, обговорення змісту прочитаного. Аудіювання текстів про погоду в різних куточках світу. Складання власних описів погоди за малюнками. Виконання граматичних вправ на утворення речення в  теперішньому неозначеному та теперішньому тривалому часах.

Мета

 навчальна: повторити тематичні одиниці й мовні зразки з теми; розвивати навички вживання вивченої лексики в усному мовленні; удосконалювати навички читання, аудіювання; тренувати у вживанні речень в теперішньому неозначеному та теперішньому тривалому часах; практикувати в усному мовленні;

 виховна: виховувати бажання піклуватися про природу, любити та берегти її

 розвиваюча: розвивати усі види пам’яті, увагу, уяву, мовленнєву реакцію, комунікативні здібності.

Обладнання: підручник, робочий зошит, тематичні малюнки «Пори року. Природа», роздаткові картки для роботи в групах, мультимедійна презентація до уроку.

Тип уроку: урок практичного застосування знань, навичок і умінь.

Перебіг уроку:

І. Організаційний момент

1. Привітання вчителя з дітьми.

Teacher:  Good morning, boys and girls. Nice to meet you at our lesson today. How are you? (діти відповідають)

- That’s nice. You’re in a good mood and we can start our lesson.

II. Уведення в іншомовну атмосферу.

1. Повідомлення теми уроку.

Teacher: Today we are going to speak about the weather and seasons. And today you will travel to different parts of the world.

2. Фонетична зарядка.

[ŋ] shining, smiling

[æ] bad, sad

[aı] dry, fine, surprise

[ð] the, weather

3. Мовленнєва зарядка. Читання вірша.

Teacher: And now read the poem.

  The sun is shining  When it is dry

  And I am smiling.  We are fine.

  The weather is bad  The weather is nice,

  And I am sad.  Isn’t it a surprise?

4. Усна бесіда за змістом прочитаного вірша.

Teacher: So, what weather do you like/ dislike? Why?

Pupils: I like / dislike the weather when it is ___ (cold, sunny, warm, hot, frosty) because I can/can’t ______.

III. Основна частина уроку.

1. Робота з тематичною лексикою.

 1) Повторення лексики теми. Лексична гра «Торнадо». Дітям пропонується знайди слова, які змішав торнадо (на слайді).

Key: Sunny, cold, May, warm, autumn, summer, weather, cloudy, snowy, hot, season.

 2) Подання тексту для читання. Дітям пропонується прочитати листа, який їм надіслала дівчинка із Лондону.

Teacher: Yesterday I received a letter from the English girl. Now you’ll read this letter but there are some unknown words in it. Let’s read and remember them.

soon - незабаром  appeared – з’явилися  changed – змінилася

Teacher: Ok, now let’s read the letter, name the words instead the pictures. 

 Hello boys and girls!

 My name is Ann. I am from London. I have my day-off today. It was very ___                in the morning. And my friends and I went to play in the yard. It was warm. But soon many dark _____  appeared in the sky. It was ____ and ____ . We ran home quickly. But after dinner the weather changed again. The weather is fine now. The ___  is blue and the ____ is shining brightly. We are very happy and are enjoying the weather now.

  What is the weather like in your town now?

  What is the weather like in your native country?

3) Післятекстове завдання. Діти відповідають на листа.

Teacher: What is the weather like today in Sumy? What is the weather like in Ukraine? Write the answers to Ann’s letter.

2. Практикування в монологічному мовленні.

 1) Робота в групах. Учитель об’єднує дітей у 2 групи і видає картки із текстами-описами пір року. Дітям слід доповнити речення необхідними словами за змістом і відгадати пори року, про які йдеться у текстах.

Teacher: Take the cards with short texts about different seasons. Read them and complete with the necessary words. Guess what seasons these are.

Winter

 December, January and February are winter months. In winter it is very cold and frosty. Sometimes it is snowy or windy. The sky is blue. The sun shines but it is cold. The days are short, the nights are long. The ground, the trees and the houses are white with snow. Children like to play snowballs, make snowmen or sledge.

Spring

 March, April and May are spring months. Spring is a warm season. Nature awakens in spring. The sky is blue. There are the first flowers in the parks, forests and gardens. The birds sing songs. The grass is green and the trees are in blossom. The air is fresh.

Summer

 June, July and August are summer months. Summer is a bright season. It is hot and dry, but sometimes it is rainy and wet. The grass and trees are green and beautiful. There are a lot of bright flowers in parks and gardens. Children like summer very much because they have summer holidays. They can go to the summer camp, to the river or to the village.

Autumn

 September, October and November are autumn months. It is chilly in autumn. It often rains. The trees are brown, yellow or red. The sky is dark blue or grey. There are many clouds in the sky. It is a dull season. But when the weather is good we like to go to the forests to pick up mushrooms. There are a lot of fruit and vegetables in autumn: apples, plums, grapes, carrots, potatoes and tomatoes. It’s a tasty season! In autumn the school starts.

2) Бесіда за текстами. Учитель ставить питання до учнів із кожної групи.

Teacher: Do you like summer (winter, autumn, spring). Why? Why not?

 3) Монологічні висловлювання дітей про пори року.

Teacher: So present short stories about all seasons.

       Well, what colour is summer (spring, autumn, winter)? Learn the poem:

 In winter the nature is white,

 It’s colour is tender in spring.

 In autumn the nature is bright,

 In summer it’s colour is green.

 3. Повторення граматичного матеріалу.

1) Повторення теперішнього тривалого та теперішнього неозначеного часів.

Teacher: When we describe the weather today we use the Present Continuous Tense. When we describe the weather on the whole we use the Present Simple Tense. Do you remember this? Let’s compare the sentences. Pay attention to the verbs.

2) Письмо речень. Перебудувати речення з теперішнього тривалого часу в теперішній неозначений час.

1. It is snowing now. (It snows in winter) 2) It is raining at the moment. (It often rains in autumn) 3) The birds are singing now. (The birds sing in spring)
   4.   Подання тексту для аудіювання.

1) Передтекстове завдання. Опрацювання слів, стор.151.

Teacher: We have new words today. Let’s read and remember them: different climates, to sunbathe and fish, to snow healthy, freezing and cold, to stay outside.

 2) Рольова гра. Діти виконують ролі репортерів і розповідають про погоду в різних частинах світу.

Teacher: Now you’ll travel around the world. Listen to the weather reports from different parts of the world. Complete the cards with the necessary information. At first let’s pronounce the proper names: England, Argentina, Canada, Australia.

Child 1: It is very wet and rainy here in London. The temperature is 10 degrees above zero. There are only a few people outside. They are holding umbrellas. Most people are watching TV or playing board games at home. Rainy days are so boring!

Child 2: It’s cloudy and windy here in Buenos Aries. The temperature is 18 degrees above zero. So it’s not very cold. People are walking in the park. A few are having picnics or flying kites.

Child 3: It’s snowing heavily  here in Ottawa. The temperature is around 10 degrees below zero. It’s freezing cold. Some kids are building a big snowman in the street. Others are playing in the snow. It’s great fun!

Child 4: It’s hot and sunny and delight. The temperature is 28 degrees above zero. Everyone is at the beach. Most people are swimming and sunbathing. Some are fishing. It is a lovely day!

3. Післятекстове завдання. Діти заповнюють картки і переказують отриману інформацію.

Teacher: Complete the tables with necessary information.

5. Практикування в діалогічному мовленні.

1) Робота в групах. Діти отримують картки із картою світу та країнами на ній. Ставлять питання один одному про погоду у різних куточках світу.

- What is the weather like in the USA?    - It’s …

- What temperature is in the USA?   - The temperature is … degrees below/above zero.

2) Драматизація діалогу. Дітям пропонується «поговорити» по телефону іноземним  другом про погоду.

Pupil 1. Hello ___. How are you?

Pupil 2. I’m fine, thank you.

Pupil 1. What is the weather like in Brazil?

Pupil 2. The weather is fine. It’s too hot and sunny.

Pupil 1. What temperature is it in Brazil now?

Pupil 2. It’s 28 degrees above zero.

Pupil 1. What are you doing?

Pupil 2. I am sunbathing and swimming in the ocean.

Pupil 1. Wow, lucky you.

Pupil 2. Yes, sure.

IV. Підсумкова частина.

1. Підсумки уроку. Вчитель закінчує урок англійським прислів’ям про погоду.

Teacher: I’d like to finish our lesson with the English proverbs:

  There is no bad weather there are bad clothes.

  У погоди немає поганої погоди.

 It means that all  seasons, all kinds of weather are beautiful. Every season is good in its own way. Each person likes this or that season.
