Theme: Eating habits. Healthy and unhealthy food.

Aims:

        -to revise the words learned during the previous lessons;

        -to improve reading, listening and speaking skills;

        -to revise grammar material (using some/any, how much/ how many, gerund).

          - to develop the pupils' ability of using their knowledge on the topic;

          - to teach the pupils to work in groups and pairs;

          -  to develop pupils' imagination and attention;

          - to incorporate creative thinking, team work

          - to foster the pupils to get interested in learning English

 

  1.  Introduction.

 

  1. Greetings

T: Good morning, pupils! Sit down, please. I’m glad to see you today. How are you?

P: We’re fine, thank you. How are you?

T:I’m OK. Let’s sing the song.

T: I see you are in a good mood. Am I right?   Let’s start our lesson.

 

T: Do you know what our mood depends on?

 

Ps: It depends on: - the weather

  •  school marks
  • seasons
  • friends
  • our meals

T: Of course, you are right. All of us like tasty food.

Look at the blackboard. There is a sentence here. But all the words in it are written together. Try to divide these words and read this sentence.

  1. T: The motto of our lesson will be “Good health is above wealth.”

At the lesson we are going to revise the words learned at the previous lessons ; improve  reading ,listening and speaking skills;

     We are going to practice in grammar. We’ll give advice what food should we eat to  be  healthy.

III  The main part of the lesson .

   

1. Revising vocabulary.

 T: Now let’s make up as many sentences  as  possible using these words .

e.g. I usually drink tea for breakfast.

       I always eat meat for dinner.

       I like eating vegetable salad.

 

  1.  Check on homework.

T: Your homework was to write a food blogs about your favourite dishes. Have you done? Give me your food blogs, please.

 

  1. Practising vocabulary.
  1. T: Look at the list of products   and write them down into two columns - healthy food and unhealthy  food.

5. Work in pairs.

T: Now listen to the text about Leo and Naomi.

Listen and complete the sentences.

Ex. 7, p. 60 (SB)

 

  1. Post-listening activity.

 

T: Now answer the questions.

  • How many hours does Leo sleep every day?
  • Does he do any exercise?
  • What does he do in his free time?
  • What does he have for breakfast?

 

7. Relaxation.

  • T: Are you tired?
  • Let’s relax and play an interesting game.
  • “I like, he likes”
  • P1: I Like cheese.
  • P2: She likes cheese and I like milk
  • P3: She likes cheese , she likes milk and I like juice.

 

  1. Reading.

 

  1. Pre-reading task.

T: Let’s do ex. 1, p. 50 (WB). Complete the words in the text.

 

  1. While-reading task.

T: Read the test and say what do  Kai and Jasmine usually have for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

 

  1. Post-reading task.

T: Answer the questions.

  • What is Kai’s favourite meal?
  • Does Jasmine like healthy or unhealthy food?
  • What fruit does she like to eat?
  • What does she usually have for lunch?
  • What doesn’t she like?

 

  1. Speaking.

T: Do you remember such key phrases as:

  • Can I help you?
  • Can I have…, please?
  • Would you like… ?
  • Anything else?
  • I’ll have… , please.
  • That’s … , please.

  

T: What do they mean?

 

 T: Let’s do ex.6, p.60 (SB). Complete the dialogue with the words in the box.

 

III.  Summary 

 

  1. Home task

T: Your hometask will be to do ex.2, p.50 (WB) and ex. 5, p.60 (SB)

 

  1. Summarizing, evaluating pupils’ achievements
