Тема. Sport. Sport Games

Мета:  повторити й активізувати лексичний матеріал теми;  формувати

            навички аудіювання й усного мовлення (діалогічного  та

            монологічного); удосконалювати техніку читання; практикувати учнів

           у письмі; сприяти розвитку мовної здогадки; виховувати активну

          життєву позицію та любов до спорту.

Обладнання: мультимедійна презентація, роздавальний матеріал (картки для самостійної роботи), підручники.

Тип уроку: комбінований.

І. Організація класу

1. Привітання

Т-Good morning, children!

2. Tongue Twister

T: Let’s prepare your tongues for English speech and read this tongue twister. (Slowly, faster and faster; when some words are taken out). Can you translate the twister into Ukrainian?

3. Aims and Objectives

T: Can you tell me what the theme of our today’s lesson is?

P: Sports.

T: Yes, today we continue speaking about sports and games. You will know the difference between sports and sport games. You’ll also practice your spoken English and writing skills.

4. Warming-up

T: Answer the questions.

1. What kinds of sport do you know?

Name some sports.

T: Open your books on page 66. Look at

the list of sports in exercise 1. Name the

sports you can see on the pictures and name the kind of each sport. Is it individual,

team or game sport?

3. What do you prefer: to go in for sports or to watch sports events on TV?
4. Name 5 or 6 widespread sports in Ukraine. (Football, basketball, hockey, skiing, athletics and so on)

The players kick the ball and run after it. There is a referee on the field. He blows a whistle from time to time. The players try to score a goal.

№3. It is one of the most popular games in the world. It was first played in Canada. It is a team game. It is a winter game. Only men and boys can play it. Many people like to watch this game on TV. The players don’t run on the field. They skate. They have sticks in their hands.

№4. It is a very beautiful kind of sports. It gives the sportsmen strength, rhythm and grace. The sportsmen do some exercises or dance to the music. The sportsmen have beautiful costumes on.

5. Writing

T: Each of you has got a sheet of paper with the text. Study the information and complete the text.

Kate is from Great Britain. She is 11 and she is a schoolgirl. Kate is on holiday now and she has much time for her hobbies.
