“Add some water.”
“Give the plant sunlight.”
Each pair labels its pot with their names and the planting date.
Teacher asks:
“What does a seed need?”
Pupils answer: “It needs water, soil, air and sunlight.”
Teacher's science note
The seed may not sprout during the lesson. Pupils will observe the results over the following days. Seeds need water, oxygen from the air and a suitable temperature to germinate. After the seedling emerges, light is essential for healthy growth. Soil provides support and nutrients, although seeds can also germinate without soil.
