Procedure
I. Introductory part
a)Т: Good morning, pupils! We still continue on talking about sports. But before we start I’d like to inform your marks for the test written at the previous lesson.
b) Today we are going to speak much about how to win the victory in sports, you’ll be able to register yourself in any sports section, a trainer will share his experience how to bring up champions. I think it’ll be an excellent start for our lesson. c) Reading a poem( written on the blackboard) :

II.Main part
1. Vocabulary Presentation p.p. 48- 49 a) We can’t be successful in today’s lesson without new vocabulary. I think we are lucky to study this part of vocabulary, because we have already had a good practice how to study irregular verbs with the help of English Irregular Rap. Read the forms of the verbs on p. 48 and help me complete the lines

b) Do you need my help as for the new verbs mentioned in the Rap? Let’s perform it! It’ll be great! As for the rest new words I am going to mime them and you’ll easily guess their meanings ( T mimes ‘ to throw’, ‘to kick’, ‘to roll’, ‘to hit’).
2.Reading Comprehension a)Pre- Reading Т: You are going to read and discuss the text “ Join the team”. Open your books on page 48, please. Look at the pictures in this page. Who can you see? Do you know the names of these sports ? b) While- Reading. Complete the sentences according to the text “ Join the team” ex. 3,p. 49. c) Checking Comprehension ex.2,p49.
3. Interaction Post- Reading : a) Prepare a talk between two kids and a receptionist . The kids have already decided to join a volleyball team, but the receptionist makes the kids change their minds and join a football team, as it has recently got a new football pitch, free of charge swimming trainings are given to the players every week, there is an excellent holiday campsite at the players’ disposal every summer.
The receptionist asks them some questions to fill in the Membership Card.

3 b) Two reporters prepare an interview with a volleyball trainer, ask him as many as possible questions to know the secrets of his( her) team successful results. Use these cues( if needed): The players/ practice every day? How long /you practice your team? The players/ any additional trainings in some other sports? How/ the players rest? How old/ the players? They/ need a special medical check-on before the match? Who/ the best players in the team? What prizes / the team already win this year ? Why the team/ be so lucky this year?

5. A role- play. Т: There is a conference with the trainer of our volleyball team. Here is the trainer of our champions and you are the reporters from different newspapers. Introduce yourself before asking your questions. Two reporters are especially active at the conference.
6.Check on home assignment WB ex. 2-3,p. 29.
III.Summing –up: Dear children, thanks a lot for your fruitful work at today’s lesson. For your next lesson you will do ex.5, p. 49. Please, fill in your vocabularies with the new words you’ve learned today.
