Мета уроку:

Навчальні:

 • закріпити лексичний матеріал з тем Halloween, Emotions, Mystery, School Life;

 • удосконалити навички аудіювання, читання, говоріння та письма;

 • активізувати вживання граматичних структур рівня B1 у мовленні;

 • формувати вміння розуміти інструкції англійською мовою та виконувати завдання в реальних комунікативних ситуаціях.

 

Розвивальні:

 • розвивати логічне мислення, мовну здогадку, пам’ять та увагу;

 • формувати вміння працювати в команді, приймати спільні рішення;

 • розвивати креативність та уяву через рольову та ігрову діяльність;

 • сприяти розвитку навичок самоконтролю та відповідальності за результат.

 

Виховні:

 • виховувати позитивне ставлення до вивчення іноземної мови;

“NIGHT OF HORRORS: SCHOOL QUEST”

 

 

1. INTRODUCTION (Opening Scene – 5 minutes)

 

(Lights are dim. Halloween music is playing softly. On the screen: “Welcome to the Night of Horrors”.)

 

Teacher / Host:

 

Good evening, dear guests, teachers and students!

Welcome to our mysterious and exciting event —

“Night of Horrors: School Quest!”

 

Tonight, our school has turned into a magical and scary place.

You will travel through dark rooms, solve riddles, complete tasks

and prove that your English is strong enough to survive this night!

 

Are you ready to begin?

 

Students (together):

 

Yes, we are!

 

Host:

Then let the quest begin!

Divide into teams and choose your team name.

Each team will get a Quest Card.

Good luck… and don’t be afraid!

STATION 2 — “ZOMBIE GRAMMAR”

 

Decor: Green lights, “Zombie” teacher

 

Task: Correct the sentences (Past Simple / Present Perfect / Conditionals)

 

Zombie says slowly:

 

Brains… I mean… grammar…

Fix my sentences and you can escape…

 

Examples:

1.She have seen a ghost yesterday. → has seen / saw

2.If I see a monster, I will run.

3.They were hiding in the dark room.

Speaking mini-task:

 

What would you do if you met a zombie?

 

Zombie:

 

Goooood… Grammar saved you… Take the symbol…

STATION 3 — “WITCH’S SPELL (LISTENING + SPEAKING)”

 

Decor: Candles, cauldron, witch hat

 

Task: Listen to short audio / teacher reads spooky story. Answer questions.

Witch says:

 

To leave my forest, you must understand my magic story…

 

Questions:

 • Where did the boy go?

 • What did he see in the house?

 • Why was he afraid?

 

Speaking:

 

Tell your own short scary story (3–4 sentences).

 

Witch:

 

Excellent… Your English is powerful… Take the symbol!

 

 STATION 4 — “GHOST’S READING ROOM

Decor: White cloths, dim light

 

Task: Read a short spooky text and answer questions.

 

Ghost whispers:

 

Read carefully… or you will stay here forever…

 

Text theme: Haunted school, mysterious corridor

Questions:

 • Who was the main character?

 • What strange thing happened?

 • How did the story end?

 

After:

 

You are clever… and brave… Take your symbol…

 

STATION 5 — “SECRET CODE (FINAL CHALLENGE)”

 

Decor: Black box, lock, symbols on board

 

Teams use collected symbols to open a code word.

 

Task types:

 • Unscramble words

 • Complete a riddle

 • Guess the final phrase:

“ENGLISH IS OUR MAGIC POWER”

 

Host appears:

 

Congratulations!

You have survived the Night of Horrors!

Your English helped you defeat fear and mystery!

 

 

 

 4. FINAL PART (10 minutes)

 

Host:

 

Dear participants, tonight you were not only brave,

but also smart, creative and friendly.

 

Let’s give applause to all teams!
