1. Welcome and Introduction by Hosts (2 minutes)
Setting: The classroom is decorated with balloons, flowers, and a "Happy Mother’s Day!" banner. Students and moms are seated together. The 4 hosts (Anna, Mark, Sofia, and David) stand at the front.
Anna: Good morning, everyone! Welcome to our special Mother’s Day celebration! I’m Anna, and these are my friends Mark, Sofia, and David. We’re your hosts today.
Mark: We’re so happy to have all our wonderful moms here with us! Today, we want to thank you for everything you do for us and celebrate Mother’s Day together.
Sofia: We’ve prepared a special program for you, including our projects called "Why My Mom Is Special to Me?" that we worked on in class.
David: We’ll also have some fun activities, riddles, and contests for our moms, and at the end, we’ll all enjoy a sweet table together. So, let’s get started!
Anna: First, let’s warm up with a little English humor about moms. Here’s a joke for you: Why did the mom bring a ladder to the kitchen?
Mark: Because she wanted to take the cooking to the next level! (Everyone laughs)
Sofia: And here’s another one: Why do moms make great detectives?
David: Because they always know when you’ve been up to no good—even before you do! (Laughter)
2. First Round of Project Presentations (10 minutes)
David: Now, let’s start with the first part of our projects. Some of us made videos, photo projects, or posters to show why our moms are so special. Let’s hear from the first three students.
-
Student 1 (Video): Plays a 1–2 minute video reading their essay, ending with “Happy Mother’s Day, Mom!” and showing a photo of them with their mom.
-
Student 2 (Photo Project): Holds up a photo collage, reads the conclusion of their essay, and explains, “I chose these pictures because they show my favorite moments with my mom, like when we baked cookies together.”
-
Student 3 (Poster): Shows a poster with their essay, reads the last paragraph, and says, “I decorated it with hearts because my mom always makes me feel loved.”
Anna: Wow, those were amazing! Let’s give a big round of applause for our first presenters! (Clapping) Moms, how did you like those projects? (Moms share brief reactions, e.g., “I’m so touched!”)
3. Riddles for Moms (3 minutes)
Sofia: Now, let’s have some fun with our moms! We’ve prepared a few riddles for you. Moms, listen carefully and try to guess the answers. They’re all about being a mom!
-
Mark: Riddle 1: I’m always there when you’re sad, I give you hugs and make you glad. Who am I?
(Answer: A mom!)
-
David: Riddle 2: I cook your meals, I wash your clothes, I help you when your worries grow. Who am I?
(Answer: A mom!)
-
Anna: Riddle 3: I’m your biggest fan, I cheer you on, I’m there for you from dusk till dawn. Who am I?
(Answer: A mom!)
-
Sofia: Riddle 4: I teach you right from wrong each day, I guide you gently on your way. Who am I?
(Answer: A mom!)
Mark: Well done, moms! You’re all experts at being amazing moms, so of course, you got the answers right! Let’s give them a big hand! (Clapping)
4. Contest 1: Karaoke – Singing an English Song (5 minutes)
David: Now, it’s time for our first contest! Moms, we know you love music, so let’s have a karaoke challenge. You’ll sing an English song that’s perfect for Mother’s Day.
Anna: We’ve chosen two songs: "Mama" by Spice Girls or "A Song for Mama" by Boyz II Men. You can pick one and sing a short part. Don’t worry if you don’t know all the words—we’ll show them on the screen!
-
Setup: A karaoke setup with lyrics displayed on a projector. Three moms volunteer to sing (or are gently encouraged by their kids).
-
Mom 1: Sings a verse from "Mama" by Spice Girls: “Mama, I love you, Mama, I care…”
-
Mom 2: Sings a part of "A Song for Mama" by Boyz II Men: “You were there for me to love and care for me…”
-
Mom 3: Sings another verse from "Mama": “Mama, you’re always there for me…”
Sofia: That was fantastic! You all have amazing voices! Let’s give our singing moms a big round of applause! (Clapping) We’ll decide the winner by applause—who do you think sang the best? (Students and moms clap for their favorite; the loudest applause wins a small prize, e.g., a flower or chocolate.)
5. Second Round of Project Presentations (10 minutes)
Mark: Let’s continue with more projects! Here are the next three students to share their work.
-
Student 4 (Video): Plays a video reading their essay, ending with a photo of them and their mom baking together.
-
Student 5 (Poster): Shows a poster with their essay, decorated with drawings, and reads the conclusion: “I’m so grateful for my mom—she’s my rock.”
-
Student 6 (Photo Project): Presents a photo collage with their essay on a card, saying, “I chose these photos because they show how my mom always supports me, like when I was stressed about exams.”
David: Those were so touching! Let’s clap for our amazing presenters and their wonderful moms! (Clapping) Moms, what did you think? (Moms share reactions, e.g., “I didn’t know you felt this way—it’s so sweet!”)
6. Contest 2: Storytelling with Pictures (5 minutes)
Anna: Now, let’s have another fun activity for our moms! This time, we’ll do a storytelling contest.
Sofia: We’ll divide you into pairs. Each pair will get a few pictures related to being a mom. You’ll write 3–4 sentences based on the pictures, and then come up to create a short story together.
-
Setup: Moms are paired up (e.g., 3 pairs if there are 6 moms). Each pair gets 3 pictures (e.g., a mom cooking, a teen studying, a family hugging). They have 5 minutes to write sentences.
-
Example Pair 1:
-
Picture 1 (Mom cooking): “Every Sunday, my mom cooks a delicious meal for our family.”
-
Picture 2 (Teen studying): “She always helps my son with his homework when he’s stressed.”
-
Picture 3 (Family hugging): “After a long day, we all hug and feel so loved.”
They come to the front and tell their story: “Every Sunday, my mom cooks a delicious meal for our family. She always helps my son with his homework when he’s stressed. After a long day, we all hug and feel so loved.”
-
Pair 2 and Pair 3: Share their stories similarly.
David: Those stories were so heartwarming! Let’s vote for the best story by applause. (Students and moms clap for their favorite story; the loudest applause wins a small prize, e.g., a flower or chocolate.)
7. Final Round of Project Presentations (10 minutes)
Mark: We have a few more projects to share. Let’s hear from our last presenters.
-
Student 7 (Video): Plays a video, ending with “Happy Mother’s Day, Mom!” and a clip of them with their mom at a park.
-
Student 8 (Photo Project): Shows a collage and reads their conclusion: “My mom is my biggest cheerleader—I’m so thankful for her.”
-
Student 9 (Poster): Presents a poster, reading the last paragraph: “I hope my mom knows how much she means to me every day.”
Sofia: That was the last of our projects! Let’s give a huge round of applause for all our presenters and their amazing moms! (Clapping)
8. Closing and Sweet Table (extra)
Anna: Thank you, moms, for coming today and for being so wonderful! We hope you loved our projects and activities.
David: Before we finish, let’s all say together: “Happy Mother’s Day! We love you, moms!” (Everyone says it together, followed by cheers and clapping.)
Mark: Now, let’s celebrate with a sweet table! We have cakes, cookies, and juice for everyone. Please come and enjoy!
-
Sweet Table: Everyone gathers around a table with treats, chatting and taking photos. Students and moms mingle, sharing reactions to the projects and enjoying the festive atmosphere.
Notes for Teachers

-
Emotional Impact: This event fosters a strong emotional connection between students and moms, aligning with the Mother’s Day theme of gratitude and love.
