NARRATOR 1 Good morning dear children, ladies and gentlemen,

                         guests! Today we are going to show you a Christmas play.

NARRATOR 2 We have prepared many poems, songs and dances. So

                        let’s begin our party.

( a monkey and a fox)

MONKEY Br-r, it’s cold, very cold today.

FOX Yes, Monkey, it’s winter, the coldest season of the year.

MONKEY I don’t like winter, Fox. It’s a sad season. It’s snowing, it’s

                cold, it’s windy and rainy.

FOX  And I like winter. It’s my favourite season. The houses and trees

          are white with snow and they are so beautiful. I think all

          children like winter games. Do you like winter, friends?

CHILDREN Yes, we do.

PUPIL 1  Cold December  brings us skating,

            For the New Year we are waiting.

PUPIL 2  Winter is snowy, winter is frosty.

                The ground is white all day and all night

PUPIL 3  This is the season when children can ski,

                 Play snowballs and dance round the New Year tree.

PUPIL 4  It’s winter, it’s winter

                 Let us skate and ski!

                 It’s winter, it’s winter,

                 It’s great fun for me.

PUPIL 5  The snow is falling

                The wind is blowing

                The ground is white

                All day and all night.

PUPIL 6  Skating, skating,

                 Boys and girls are brave.

                 Like to skate together

                 On a winter day.

PUPIL 7   I am skating on bright ice

                 Winter holidays are nice

PUPIL 8   While we dance we sing along

                  All our favourite Christmas song!

 

( All the children sing the song “Jingle Bells”)

Dashing through the snow

In one-horse open sleigh,

                                   Over the fields we go

                                    Laughing all the way.

Bells on bobtail ring

Making spirits bright,

             What fun it is to ride and sing

  A sleighing song tonight!

Chorus

Jingle bells, jingle bells,

                                     Jingle all the way

Oh! What fun it is to ride

   In a one-horse open sleigh!

 

 

PUPIL 9  Oh, look!  It’s a box! A big box! What is it? Come here!

(All the children come to the box and do a magic trick.)

Hands up, hands down,

Clap, clap, clap.

Is it little? Is it big?

Show me, show me, show me!

What is it?

(A clown jumps out of the box)

CHILDREN A clown! A clown! A clown has a funny face!

CLOWN   Paint your hair and paint your nose.

                Show me. Show me.

                 Paint your hair and paint your nose.

                 Show me a funny face.

                 Funny hair,

                 Funny nose.

                 I have a funny face.

                 Paint your eyes and paint your mouth.

                 Show me. Show me.

                 Paint your eyes and paint your mouth.

                 Show me a funny face.

                 Funny eyes.

                 Funny mouth.

                 I have a funny face.

PUPIL 10 We look funny! Let’s sing and dance! Can you dance with us,

                 Clown?

CLOWN Yes, of course!

( All the children sing the song “Funny Face”)

PUPIL 11    The Christmas tree is so fine and tall

                    Stands in the centre of the hall.

PUPIL 12     It’s needles are green,

                     It’s toys are bright!

                     Our Christmas party is tonight!

PUPIL 13    Around the Christmas tree let us play

                     Because it is the Christmas Day!

PUPIL 14    I want to give you lots of love,

                     And want to say right here:

                     Have a merry Christmas,

                     And then a happy Year!

PUPIL 15      New things to learn!

PUPIL 16    New friends to meet.

PUPIL 17    New songs to sing.

PUPIL 18    New books to read.

PUPIL 19    New things to see.

PUPIL 20    New things to hear

PUPIL 21    New things to do.

CHILDREN   In this New Year.

( All the children sing give parents their Christmas cards. They  sing the song “I wish you a merry Christmas”)
