WHAT ARE QUANTIFIERS?quantifiers are words which are used with nouns to show the amount of something. 

SOME - ANY - NOSOME + UNCOUNTABLE/ PLURAL COUNTABLE NOUNSis used when we offer something or ask for something politely Would you like some apples? Could I have some tea? There is some juice in the glass I’d like to ask some questions

ANY + PLURAL COUNTABLE/ UNCOUNTABLE NOUNSis used in questions and negative sentences There aren’t any books on the desk Is there any water in the fridge? Are there any volunteers to answer?

NO = NOT ANY + UNCOUNTABLE / PLURAL COUNTABLE NOUNSis used in affirmative sentences to give a negative meaning. There is no money in the bag = There isn’t any money in the bag

MANY + PLURAL COUNTABLE NOUNSis used mainly in questions and in negative sentences How many people were there at the meeting yesterday? I didn’t see many people in the street

MUCH + UNCOUNTABLE NOUNSis used mainly in questions and in negative sentences How much money do you need? I didn’t manage to learn much information from it

A LOT OF / LOTS OF / PLENTY OF are always used with OF when they are followed by a noun. They are used with: Plural nouns and a plural verb There were a lot of students in the school hall. Uncountable nouns and a singular verb There is plenty of food left on the table

A FEW ( Not many but enough)is used with plural nouns and a plural verb There are a few trees in the garden. All of them are old and tall. FEW ( Not many and not enough)is used with plural nouns and plural verb Very few people disagree with him

A LITTLE ( not much but enough)Is used with uncountable nouns and a singular verb There is a little butter in the fridge. LITTLE ( not much and not enough)Is used uncountable nouns and a singular verb There was little time, so we had to hurry up

Nouns can be countable and uncountable. Some nouns are used as both countable and uncountable in different context. Countable Uncountable. A pupil milk. A city money. An apple snow. A computer love. A glass glass
