It is the oldest royal residence- home of kings and queens. Elizabeth II was the queen. The Queen lived in Buckingham Palace. She died at the age of 96 on the 8th of September in 2022.

Charles Philip Arthur George (Charles III) became the oldest person to accede to the British throne, upon the death of his mother, Elizabeth II (aged 96), on 8 September 2022.
• The British Museum is famous for its collection of works of art from Egypt , Greece and ancient Rome. It also has many other masterpieces.
• The Queen’s favourite summer home was
Windsor Castle. It’s outside London. When the Queen was at home, the flag flied from the Round Castle.
• St Paul’s Cathedral is the biggest church in London.
• The most famous church is Westminster Abbey where kings and queens are crowned, married and buried.
• Trafalgar Square is the main square of Central London. It’s popular with tourists who come here to relax after visiting the National Gallery.
The huge building is the home of the British Parliament. The task of Parliament is to make laws. Big Ben is the name of the bell (13.7 tonnes) inside the Clock (Elizabeth) Tower which forms part of the Houses of Parliament.
Tower Bridge opens for the big ships to pass.
The Tower of London is probably the most famous tower in the world. It has a very interesting past. It was a royal palace and a prison. Today it’s a museum.
