The Girls Contest
"Juliet’s Hairstyle"

One (two) from each class.
Form
From 5th to 11th.
Teacher's Preparation
Inform your pupils about the contest beforehand. Point out that it is devoted to one of the most famous and popular Shakespeare's character. Advise to read the play "Romeo and Juliet" or to watch the film. Remind your pupils that Juliet was only fourteen and she was in love with Romeo. Stress that a contestant should be ready to prove the idea of the hairstyle in some sentences in English.
Instruction for Pupils
Imagine that you are Juliet. Try to think and feel like her. Make your coiffure remembering her emotions. Any decorations are appropriate. May be you are Juliet of the present? Creativity is greeted! Don't forget to present your hairstyle expressing your sensations and thoughts.

"A Real Gentleman's Tie»

Inform your pupils about the contest beforehand. Remind them that a tiе is an essential асcessory of the formal gentleman's image. Advise your pupils to find out more about a dress code. Point out that a contestant should be ready to present his tie in a few sentences in English.
Instruction for Pupils
Imagine yourself a real gentleman. Your tie should be prорer under different circumstances you think about. Creativity is appreciated! Don't forget to submit for consideration your tie and explain the situation when it is necessary.
The Contest "A New Exhibit for Madame Tussaud's"

Teacher's Preparation
Inform your pupils about the contest beforehand. Remind them that Madame Tussaud's is an exhibition of hundreds of life size wax models of famous people of yesterday and today. Show some pictures or a film fragment. Advise to get more information about museum and its founder. Announce that a short verbal presentation of a statue is demanded.
Instruction for Pupils
Imagine that you are a sculptor and you have to replenish Madame Tussaud's displays. Consider your model and be ready to explain your choice. Creativity is appreciated and estimated! Remember your exhibit is made of wax so it has to be immovable for some time.

"A Queen's Hat"

Teacher's Preparation
Inform your pupils about the contest beforehand. Pay their attention that it is devoted to the English queen Elizabeth II. Advise your pupils to learn more about the Queen's collection of hats. Show them some photos. Point out that a contestant should say a few sentences about the suggested creation in English.
Instruction for Pupils
Imagine that you are making a hat for the English queen. She needs it for different purposes: gardening, sailing, shopping, riding a horse etc. Propose a Queen your own model. Don't forget to present your hat in some sentences and describe the situation when such a hat is appropriate. Creativity is expected and encouraged!
The Best Motto Contest

Inform your pupils about the contest beforehand. Remind that the word "motto" means a short sentence or a few words taken as the guiding principle of a person, a school etc. Point out that the importance of learning English nowadays.
Instruction for Pupils
Get a sheet of paper (A3 or A4) and necessary paints. You should think about expressing the main idea of our School English Language Festival as a short message. It is to appeal to master English well. Correspond your attitude to studying English in your own way. Let your motto be bright and stick in our memory! Creativity is expected!
