further which has already resulted in severe health risks and related costs to care for and treat persons affected by risky sexual behavior. The document, signed by doctors in different disciplines from family medicine, dermatology and neurology, warns that anal sex that practiced by most gay men, has a large number of diseases associated with it, “many of which are rare or even unknown in the heterosexual population” such as: anal cancer, Chlamydia trachomatis, Cryptosporidium, Giardia lamblia, Herpes simplex virus, HIV, Human papilloma virus, Isospora belli, Microsporidia, Gonorrhoea, Syphilis, Hepatitis B and C and others.

The problem also lies in the fact that these diseases can soon spread to heterosexual couples. The Archives of Internal Medicine found out that homosexuals acquired syphilis at a rate ten times that of heterosexuals. The brief notes also say that “Over 70% of all AIDS diagnoses in Canada in adults over the age of 15 up to June 2004 were in homosexual men (13,019 out of 19,238).” In this simple example we can clearly see that the rate of people with lethal diseases in same-sex marriages is higher. So, the first reason why I am against of the legalization of same-sex marriages is a health factor.

imageAnother major reason concerns the upbringing of children. The opponents of raising children in same-sex families and me too believe that children raised in lesbian and homosexual families are more often seen in cross-gender behavior and cross-gender role-playing games. But it is not the main problem and disadvantage. Children in same-sex families often suffer from a lack of understanding of their peers and from disapproval of society as not all people of mankind are calm about the "unusual" nature of their parents. In fact, you can find some examples for this in real life. What is more, in such families there is no role model of the opposite sex and children have a wrong model of the family. Accordingly, it will be difficult for a child to build a relationship with the opposite sex in the future.

My last argument also concerns children, but in another aspect. I want to talk about children “in vitro”. We called so children, who were grown outside the mother's body, that is, in vitro. As the single-sex couples can’t have their child, they can refer to this method. Yes, maybe, it has many pros as it is a breakthrough in science. But I know a lot of disadvantages. Children, who were born in this way, have a lot of problems with their health. According to the researches, 75% of children born as a result of IVF are disabled.

Scientists estimated that 10.5% of 461 children diagnosed with autism were born due to the procedure of artificial insemination. One of the diseases associated with IVF, is Angelman syndrome (defect of the 15th chromosome, causes a delay in mental development). Scientists also found out that almost 4% of children with autism were born prematurely after in vitro fertilization, and about 5% of them have low birth weight. Children born with IVF have more chances of developing some psychological problems, such as attention deficit disorder, and hyperactivity, depression and alcoholism. The most common health problems of children born due to IVF are mental disorders, vision problems, asthma or allergies.

imageHowever, there are some people, who believe in correctness of same-sex marriages. It is argued that making same-sex marriage will not harm the institution of marriage. Supporters of this statement say they may be more stable than heterosexual marriages. But they don’t consider that traditional heterosexual marriages can be destroyed by the single-sex. Same-sex marriage undermines the institution of marriage that has traditionally been defined as being between a man and a woman. They don’t also think that there are a lot of other people, not homosexuals, who will consider that they have the same equal rights. I mean that same-sex marriages increase the chances of leading to other unaccepted marriages and non-traditional marriages such as incest, polygamy, and bestiality.

Taking everything into account, I think that legalization of single-sex marriages is unacceptable for our country as the rate of dangerous illness will rise, we will have children with inability to build relationships with another gender and a frail generation that could soon lead to the depopulation.

imageThe first point I would like to raise is that couples like that have already become the part of our reality. Opponents of equality frequently make use of flawed researches to insinuate that allowing same-sex couples to marry will somehow harm children. They argue that children need a “mom and a dad” in order to flourish in life and that legalizing same-sex marriage denies children this opportunity of “normalcy”. But what about families with no “mom” or “dad”? During the wars, there were a lot of kids, raised only by mother and for example grandmother and I don’t really see serious psychological problems in those kids. They were raised even without a “normal” family but with LOVE. That’s the point actually. Children don’t need parents of different sex if they are not loving, caring persons. Being a parent includes a lot of things you need to know how to deal with, a lot of characteristics you need to have. It doesn’t matter who will raise a child, if he/she is save, happy and loved. Multiple studies across the social sciences have repeatedly demonstrated that there is no difference in psychosocial outcomes between children raised by opposite-sex couples and those raised by same-sex couples. There is no evidence that children are psychologically harmed by having two dads or two moms. And it actually will help to solve you of the greatest problems in our world. Orphans and adoption. Gay marriages will increase the chances for thousands of foster children to gain loving parents and families. The thought that two men or two women cannot raise a child as well as one man and one woman is absurd. Only because of these couples aren’t married many children can’t have a loving family. That’s horrible. Most adoption agencies discriminate against gay couples and make it incredibly difficult for them to adopt children. By legalizing gay marriage in ALL countries, adoption agencies will be forced to grant the same respect and right to homosexual couples. Just because gay people can’t have children naturally they will adopt them. Children will be happy, problem will be solved.

Not to mention the fact that gay marriage will have no effect on heterosexual community. If you think that sexual orientation is a choice, I’ll ask you to think again. In most cases open gays are subjected to violence, others do not understand and ignore them for actually NO REASON. A good choice a person could make – constantly living in fear of being thrown on the street, bullied or beaten. I can agree with the fact that it can be changed after any strong emotional experiences, but this is not a choice. Back to the point, I don’t think that you or your children can actually change the sex of people you love just by seeing a person who is gay. That’s impossible. If you see two boys or two girls kissing and you want to do the same, congratulations, you are not straight. The only thing I want to say that if your child is strong enough and trust you enough to come out to you, you have no right to break his/her trust by hurting them physically or morally. I’ll repeat it again: it is not a choice.

imageOpponents of this view say that it's against their religion. One of the major reasons that gay marriage is currently illegal is due to the religious interpretation that "homosexuality is a sin". Legalizing this would offend deeply their held beliefs. Christian, Jewish and Islamic leaders have all spoken out against gay marriage and point out that it runs counter to sacred writings. Such a religious perspective should have no place in federal, legal matters. Let’s separate church and state. The Ten Commandments do not define our legal system, so why does the religious argument "marriage is the union between a man and a women" keep so many gay couples from becoming legally married? Legalizing gay marriage will have no negative impact on religion and/or the religious view of others, just as religion should not have any impact on the issue of gay marriage. Historically, some cultures and religions accommodated or revered same-sex love and sexuality; such mythologies and traditions can be found around the world. For example, Hinduism does not view homosexuality as a religious sin. In 2009, the Hindu Council UK released the statement "Hinduism does not condemn homosexuality". The Sikh holy scriptures The Guru Granth Sahib, teaches tolerance, equality and acceptance of all people, regardless of race, religion, gender, or sexuality. Sikh wedding ceremonies are non-gender specific and so same-sex marriage is possible within Sikhism.

All things considered, after hours of studying different material, I still do not see the reasons why gay marriages shouldn’t be legalized. Even though to most people gay marriage should be illegal and should stay in its current

you even to their own detriment. So if you are gay and are reading this essay, spit right on the opinion of the society and continue to live happily.

imageThe first point I would like to raise is that gay-marriages should be legalized to give all people an opportunity to have equal rights. Marriage is a successful institution and it makes sense to make it accessible it to as many people as possible. Since the beginning of history, couples have sought to seal their love and solemnly bind themselves together through marriage. Giving same-sex couples the possibility to have that bond will strengthen society. Legalization of same-sex marriages recognizes the reality: there are gay people, they love each other and they want to commit to each other through marriage in the same way as straight couples. However, the samesex couples are completely deprived of the legal rights and benefits that heterosexual couples enjoy. For instance, why lovers in straight pairs can get an inheritance after one of them dies and in gay couples this is impossible? Not to mention the fact that hospitals can’t legally allow gay partners to receive medical information about their condition without a blood relative present. Legalizing gay marriage will allow gay couples hospital visitation rights and respect the validity of their marriage by letting them make medical decisions on behalf of their wifes or husbands. Apart from that, the legalization of the same-sex marriages won’t affect any aspects of same-sex marriages — directly or indirectly. So, why to be so strongly opposed to this prospect?

Another major reason is that the legalization of the same-sex marriages will be the first step to a more tolerant attitude to homosexual couples. It is not a secret, that in our country a big part of people are against this type of relationships being extremely aggressive and insulting. It often leads to horrible consequences. Teenagers commit suicide as a result of bullying at schools because of their homosexual orientation. Legalizing gay marriage will show teens that homosexuality is accepted and respected in society. We need to explain to younger generations that being different is not a social disability, so that they will never feel the need to put an end to their own lives because they are gay.

imageThe first point I would like to raise is that gays should have same fundamental rights as heterosexuals. Though there is no exact statistics about the number of homosexuals in the world: the data range from 5 to 7 percent, which in any case makes them a minority,  it is not the reason to consider them worse or inferior to others. This means that gays should have the same right to legalize their relationship as straight couples. The popular position "we recognize you and do not touch, do what you want behind closed doors" – is  in fact a hypocritical half-measure on the observance of human rights. However, marriage does not only have an ethical but also a legal side. The absence of a marriage certificate can cause complexities both for heterosexual and homosexual couples. The way I see it, it is unfair that  heterosexual couples have the opportunity to solve their problems by legalizing their relations, while homosexual couples don’t have. Some questions can be settled by a civil law contract or a will, but if it is not compiled, the partner of the deceased will not have any rights to inheritance. The same applies to the separation of property at the time of separation: if there is no corresponding paper, then all the property will go to the partner by who it is registered. The inability to officially register their relationship deprives same-sex couples of a number of social benefits available to heterosexual families, for example in the field of lending or health insurance.

Last but not the least is the fact that most adoption agencies discriminate against gay couples and make it incredibly difficult for them to adopt children. Many agencies will only release children to "married" couples, therefore rejecting stable, loving, homosexual parents. By legalizing gay marriage in ALL states, adoption agencies will be forced to grant the same respect and right to homosexual couples. Gay marriage will increase the chances for thousands of foster children to gain loving parents and families. Opponents of this should know that gays don’t impose their orientation on children. They just want to share love and care. You can find many examples for this in real life. Neil Patrick Harris, an American actor, and David Burtka are open gays and have two children via a surrogate mother. They have so close and cute relationships. Twins called David "daddy" and the Nile - "Dad". So in this simple example we can see that personal qualities: the wisdom, patience, ability to understand and accept the child's position, are much more important than the orientation. People, who were raised by gay couple, say on the websites that their dads and moms taught them well to be a good person, respectful and obedient and no one is bullying if they have gay parents.

imageOpponents of this view say that "homosexual are sinners." According to the  Bible Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed by the Creator because of the homosexuality,  though believers keep saying say that God loves everybody. I strongly believe this can’t be considered to be a relevant argument in our debate for some reasons. Firstly, such a religious postulate should not be related to federal or legal matters in the Ukraine. We live a secular society that maintains secular views. Moreover, everyone has their own right to religion. The Ten Commandments don’t define our legal system, so why does the religious argument "marriage is the union between a man and a women" keep so many gay couples from becoming legally married? Legalizing gay marriage will have no negative impact on religion or the religious view of others, just as religion should not have any impact on the issue of gay marriage.

All things considered, same-sex marriage should be legalized. Marriage is a certificate from the government not a certificate from God. Love is love. If homosexuals want to get married it should be allowed. Hopefully, our society is definitely becoming more democratic, more tolerant, more humane and more civilized. Just remember, in the 50s, interracial marriage was illegal. But now, modern society considers this to be an unjust law that denied equal rights to couples who loved each other. The issue of gay marriage is not different. Denying marriage to two individuals who love each other is to deny them a fundamental freedom. We all have our own rights; we should be able to do what makes us happy, not what makes other people happy.

39% are against it. Needless to say, that in all progressive countries gay marriages is not forbidden. Right now, Ukraine is going to enter Europe, and everybody knows that fourteen countries of the world out of twenty two, where homosexual marriage is legal, are located in Europe. To sum up my first point, I’d like to emphasize, that all the above mentioned facts clearly demonstrate that the majority of people are not against LGBT marriages.

imageIt’s a sad fact that everyone has heard such things as “it is abnormal!!!”; “religion does not support gay marriages”; “can u realize that your children might become lesbian or gay?!” I can confidently say, that every man and woman must have equal rights not to mention the simple fact that everybody has his or her  head on the shoulders and we all live the way we want, and LGBT community is not an exception. Fortunately, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine intends to draft a bill on the legalization of same-sex civil partnership until 2018. The corresponding order No. 1393 of November 23, 2015 was published on the government's website on March 11. By this document, the Cabinet approved an action plan for the implementation of the National Human Rights Strategy for the period until 2020. One of the points of the plan is “the development and submission to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of a bill on the legalization of a registered civil partnership in Ukraine for same-sex and same-sex couples, taking into account property and non-property rights, in particular, possession and inheritance of property, keeping one partner in the case of disability, constitutional right of non-certification against one's partner.”

Summing up everything I have told, I would like to make a conclusion that LGBT marriages must be legalized in Ukraine, because nowadays the rights of gays, lesbians, bisexuals and trans genders are impaired which is clearly unfair and non-European.
