Мета:

закріпити знання навчального матеріалу з теми «Характер людини. Риси характеру людини»; вдосконалювати навички читання, усного мовлення, вживання в мовленні will/won’t; продовжити формування мовної здогадки та мовленнєвої   реакції учнів;

розвивати слухову пам’ять, увагу, логічне та  асоціативне мислення, самостійність, пошуково – пізнавальну активність, уміння знаходити і виправляти фактичні помилки, уміння оцінювати  себе, робити висновки;

  сприяти формуванню позитивних рис характеру молодих громадян України, виховувати пізнавальну активність, старанність та увагу.

Тип уроку:    урок закріплення знань.

Обладнання: підручник, робочий зошит, словник, аудіо-записи, НО “Characteristics”, ПК, пісковий годинник;

Методи та методичні прийоми: словесні (розповідь), наочні (ілюстрації до теми), практичні (вправи).

Форми організації пізнавальної діяльності учнів: фронтальна, індивідуально – відокремлена, групова.

Хід уроку

1. Організаційний етап

Привітання. Налаштування учнів на доброзичливу обстановку в класі.

T: Good day, pupils! I’m glad to see you!

Today’s lesson is an unusual because we have the guests.

    Turn around and say “Good day, teachers!”

Who is on duty today? Who is absent today?

P: I’m on duty today. X is absent today (All are present).

T: X tell us, please, what was your homework for today?

P: Our homework was to learn by heart the poem “About us the Ukrainians”.

T: Thank you. Take your seat.

2. Перевірка домашнього завдання

T: Well, now I give you the stripes and you have to reorder the lines from the very beginning to the end of the poem. Everything is clear? You have only one minute. Let’s start! (10 б.) Слайд 1

“About us the Ukrainians”

Come on, let’s speak about temper

And let’s take us, as an example.

The real Ukrainians can hardly cry,

But some of us are very shy.

We like to eat like everybody

Like everybody, like to study

And we can prove that we are right

But can’t admit the faults of mind.

3.       Підготовка учнів до засвоєння нових знань (мотивація) Слайд 2

Our today’s theme is: “Personality’s character”. What does it mean «character»? What does it mean «personality»? And person’s character? Як говорить прислів’я: «Скільки людей – стільки й характерів». І це дійсно так, двох однакових людей немає і навіть близнюки, яких не можемо розрізнити на перший погляд, на другий – виявляються зовсім різними людьми. I think it’s very actual today because  характер людини обумовлює її вчинки, дає змогу краще пристосуватися до оточення, переборювати різні труднощі, жити повноцінним життям.

So, the aims of our lesson are: vocabulary practice (personality’s character); закріпити вживання               Future Simple Tense (will, shall, won’t, shan’t);

4. Первинне закріплення знань

T: Look at the table, find and translate six adjectives which characterize our Ukrainian nation. X, remind us, what date is it today? (3 б.)Слайд 3

P: Today is Wednesday, the twentieth of February.

T: Open your copybooks and write down today’s date.

T: Listen to the dialogue.

Look through the dialogue. If you notice, there are a lot of new words. Let’s read them after me! All together!

New words: (Слайд 5)

1. numerology –  нумерологія, гадання по числам;
2. mad – божевільний;
3. if – якщо;
4. add up – додавати;
5. digit – цифра, однозначне число (від 0 до 9);
6. personality – особистість;
7. mark – оцінка, бал;
8. equal – дорівнювати;
9. mean – означати;
10. horoscope – гороскоп;
11. stuff – нісенітниця;
12. cancer – рак;
13. probably – ймовірно, важливо;
14. amazing – дивовижно.

T: Are you ready to listen to the dialogue? Let’s start.

H: Mark, did you do this numerology thing?

M: Oh, yeah, I saw that, but I’m not really interested.

H: Why not? It’s really interesting.

M: You’re mad if you believe in those things, Holly. I mean, how can adding up the digits in your birth date tell you about your personality?

H: We’ll find out if you tell me your birthday. Come on. What is it?

M: Will you live me alone if I tell you?

H: Just tell me mark!

M: The third of July.

H: And the year is 1997, same as me. So that’s 3 plus 7, and 1 is 11, 20,29, plus 7 is… 36.  That’s 3 plus 6 equals 9. Your number is 9. So let’s see. That means you’re creative and generous. Correct?

M: Creative and generous? Erm,yes, maybe.

H: See. I told you. Now, it also says that you’re sometimes moody.

M: Moody? Me?

H: Hmmm… What about you, Becky, you like horoscopes and stuff like that, don’t you?

B: Yes.

H: Well, if you like horoscopes, you’ll love this.

B: Yeah, I tried it. My number is six.

H: Six… so you’re artistic and you like helping people.

B: Well, I’m not exactly artistic, am I?

H: Not exactly. But these things are usually right…

B: Holly! They’re just a bit of fun really, aren’t they? Like horoscopes… Let’s look at your horoscope, Mark. You’re cancer… Cancer… Ok, it says, ‘If you go to a café today you’ll meet two friendly girls… And their names will probably be Holly and Becky!’

H: Wow! That’s amazing!

M: Yeah, very funny.

Your task is to complete the sentences with one or two words. (3 б.)

1. Mark’s birthday is in July.
2. Mark and Holly were born in the year 1997.
3. The test says Mark is creative, generous and sometimes moody.
4. Becky’s numerology number is six.
5. Becky says she isn’t artistic.
