We use the passive voice when we don’t know who does the action or the action is more important than the person doing it.

Present Simple Passive

Used for:
– Actions that happen regularly or are generally true.

Form:
am / is / are + past participle (V3)

Example:
The room is cleaned every day.

Past Simple Passive

Used for:
– Actions that happened in the past and the person who did it is unknown or unimportant.

Form:
was / were + past participle (V3)

Example:
The room was cleaned yesterday.
