       Відеоматеріали дуже доцільно використовувати під час вивчення  творів видатних письменників. Так коли я проводила  урок домашнього читання в 11 класі на основі  уривку із твору Ернеста Хемінгуея «Старик і море», то  на початку уроку я продемонструвала учням фрагмент анімаційного фільму за мотивами цього твору для того, щоб створити атмосферу, яка б допомогла учням краще сприйняти матеріал та емоційно налаштуватись на плідну працю та не залишитись байдужими до страждань самотньої людини та її боротьби . Після перегляду учні мали виконати невелике завдання, а потім продовжили працювати за матеріалами тексту.

The Old Man and the Sea  is a 1999 paint-on-glass-animated short film directed by Aleksandr Petrov, based on the novel of the same name by Ernest Hemingway. The film won many awards, including the Academy Award for Animated Short Film. Work on the film took place in Montreal over a period of two and a half years and was funded by an assortment of Canadian, Russian and Japanese companies.

 2.  Homework. Summary. Complete the text.

 The story begins, as you might expect, with an old man. He is a ______ who has not caught a fish in ____ days. He is also not eating very much. The two factors are related. We also meet a boy who is dear friends with the old man. The old man taught him to ____when he was young, and the boy brings the old man food. Does our language sound elementary and clipped? That’s because Hemingway’s prose is. His is just eight million times better than ours.

So that sets the stage. We’d also like to note that the old man has a name  ____, as does the young boy  _____, but the text always refers to them as "the old man" and "the boy." So this old man goes to sleep dreaming of the ____he used to see back in the day in ____. He wakes before sunrise and does what fishermen do – namely, get in his boat and head out to fish.
Not too long after that, the old man hooks a really, really, ______ fish. A "marlin" to be more exact. An earth-shattering struggle of mythical proportions follows. Most of the novella consists of this struggle, which lasts over ____days. It is a battle of strength and of wills. The old man sees the fish as his ______, not his enemy, yet never wavers in his resolution to kill the thing. Which, ultimately, he does.
But this is no happy ending. It’s just a happy mid-point followed by an extraordinarily sad ending. The old man straps the fish to the _____ of the boat and heads home. On the way, he is attacked by ____, who slowly but surely eat away at the marlin while the old man, starving and exhausted, tries to beat them off with a _____, a club, and finally nothing but a simple ___. By the time he makes it back to shore, there is nothing left of the fish but a _____. The old man goes to sleep and dreams of the same lions of his youth.

    В якості домашнього завдання можна запропонувати учням написати рецензію на цей твір. Також учням буде цікаво вигадати свої власні назви до анімаційного фільму, які б привернули увагу глядачів різного віку та викликали бажання подивитись цей витвір сучасного мистецтва.
