You know, it is my mum’s birthday today. Usually she goes shopping. But today she is at work, so I’m doing

the shopping.

S: It’s Sunday today. Does she work on Sundays?

L: Sometimes. And sometimes she doesn’t work on weekdays. She’s a doctor at the hospital.

S: Oh, I see. Do you want anything else?

L: Well, we are going to have sandwiches. There’s some cheese and sausage for sandwiches in the fridge. We’ve got some meat and vegetables for salads. But there isn’t anything for tea. So can I have a bag of sugar, a jar of apple jam, three lemons and a cake, please?
