Theme: Science and Technology
Teacher’s objectives:
- to perfect students’ cognitive and creative skills;
- to define the problematic areas in students’ speaking, reading of the giving
topics;
- to develop students’ speaking and reading comprehension skills;
- to revise students’ vocabulary;
- to provide students’ with information dealing with different aspects of communication;
- to revise and practice using of defining and non-defining relative clauses;
- to educate respectful attitude towards the teacher and each other in cooperation, interest in learning English.
Learner’s objectives:
- by the end of the lesson students will be able to speak on the theme;
- express their opinions about different means of communication in pairs and
groups;
- recognize the speaker’s attitude towards communication.

Procedure
Pre-reading.
T: Different people use the term “communication “ in different ways, and much confusion can arise from consequent misunderstandings. So we had better start by making sure that we are thinking about the same things when we use the term.
1). What does “communication” mean? Please, take a piece of paper and write down a brief definition of the term. Don’t take more than 2-3 minutes over this.

2). What means of communication do you know? How do you use them?
3). Work in pairs. Are you dependent on these technologies? Answer the questions (Test) and tell us about you partner.
