T greets the Ss Ss sing a song “Hello song”and answer the question “How are you?” one by one.
T tells about the topic of the lesson and the activities they are going to do.
•Listen and repeat.
•Draw the face and name the words.
•Find and write the words.
• Write the first two letters of each face word on the board, with dashes to show how many other letters there are in the word, e.g. gl_____. • With books closed, pupils write the words and compare their spellings in pairs. • Place the flashcards on the board. • Pupils come up in turn and write the word under the flashcard. • Confirm with the wordcards.
Ss sing a song.
• Use one of the flashcards, hold it up and point to the girl's hair. Say She's got blue hair. Make it clear that this sentence is incorrect. • Repeat and encourage pupils to say a correct sentence: She's got brown hair. • Pupils chorally repeat She's got brown hair several times. • Point to a male pupil in the class and say He's got (colour) eyes. • Encourage pupils to repeat individually and chorally.
Read and say the names. • Pupils look at the sentences and at the pictures in the Pupil's Book. • Do the first one as an example with the class. • Check pupils know what to do. They read silently, choose the correct name for each sentence and then compare answers in pairs. • Check answers with the class. Key: 1 Paula, 2 Sally, 3Jim, 4 Sue Listen and say. • Play the first sentence on the recording. Pupils repeat. • Do the same for the second sentence. • Pupils practise saying the sentences in pairs.

Listen and circle. Using the worksheet 2 • This listening and reading activity practises He/She's got and face vocabulary. Read the sentences below. Pupils listen and decide which picture the sentences describe. They circle a or b each time. TEACHER'S SCRIPT 1 She's got short black hair. 2 She's got glasses. 3 She's got a big mouth. 4 She's got long hair 5 He's got a big nose 6 He's got glasses 7 He's got short hair. It's black.... 8 He's got small ears. Pupils read the description and complete the picture accordingly. They will need access to a blue and brown pen or pencil.
