Lesson aim:

                   -   To practise  in recognizing, saying  and visualization of graphic          names of colours;

                   -  To develop concentration of attention and memory

Learning outcomes:

     By the end of the lesson the learners will be able to:

                     -  name the colours;

                     - recognize the colours;

                     - reproduce the names of the colours introduced in previous lessons

Language support materials:

  • Picture cards: colours, varicolored pictures;
  • Word cards: the names of the colours
  • Video

  1. ‘Flip Flop’ game ( Whole class in 2 groups )                      Listening
    1. Teacher says, ‘Let’s play a game Flip Flop!’
    2. Teacher unites the class into 2 groups, A and B.
    3. Teacher gives instructions to learners.
    4. Teacher gives 2 fly flaps to the first members of  2 teams.
    5. Teacher points to varicolored pictures around the classroom.
    6. Teacher says ‘red’. The members of 2 teams should run to the correct

red picture and flop over it.

  1. After that they should return and pass the fly flap to the second member

of a team.

  1. Teacher says ‘ blue, green, yellow, black, pink, orange ‘
  2.  Teacher instructs learners to start and continue until the

stop signal is given.

  1.     Teacher monitors extensively.

  2.  Learners should try to read the name of the colour and pick up

this card according to his / her colour.

    1. Teacher says, ‘Let’s play a game Simon Says!’
    2. Teacher gives some instructions

Simon says , ‘Touch red’ and learners should find and touch

something red. Simon says, ‘white, pink, orange, brown, grey, green.

    2. Learners should show the colour to his / her neighbor and

No, it isn’t.

  1. After that learners should a role reversal.

       9.1. All learners have got colourful  cards, they should

              name  all these colours one by one.

       9.2  Teacher tells a story about the “ Magic Box”

             Dear, Children! You can see a beautiful box, it’s not an ordinary box, it’s a           

 Magic Box.  It’s a house  for our colors. All colours are very tired. They

have been working all the  lesson and our colors need a rest. All children  who

have got red cards should show me their cards, stand up and put cards into

the Magic Box. And now children, who have got blue cards should put

cards into the Magic Box. And etc.
