Тема: My Town. Let’s Play. (Module 6).
Мета: повторити та узагальнити пройдений лексико-граматичний матеріал (Модуль 6 – Units 6a, 6b, 6c).
Лексичний матеріал:
pet shop, toy shop, school, park, supermarket, hospital, cinema, police station, restaurant, playground, zoo.
Граматичні структури:
There’s a (pet shop).
There are (two) (hospitals) in my town.
Is there a (zoo) in your town? – Yes. / No.
Очікувані результати
Учень / учениця:
- розпізнає засвоєні назви будівель та локацій у місті в знайомому контексті та в супроводі малюнків;
- описує своє місто, використовуючи засвоєні граматичні структури;
- ставить і відповідає на запитання за малюнками про локації у місті.
Lesson Procedure
I.
1. Greetings.
T: Good morning, dear students. It’s time to start our lesson.

2. Warm up.
T: How are you today? Choose a smiley and put a tick at number 1.

Now tell us about your mood. T: How are you? – S: I’m (fine).
3. Announcing the topic of the lesson and the learning outcomes.
T: Look at the picture.
What can you see there? (a town). What is our topic? (My Town).
Today we have a Revision Lesson.
Our task for today is to revise the vocabulary and grammar we have already learnt. By the end of the lesson you’ll be able to say 11 words related to a town, use 2 structures to identify places in a town, ask and answer questions about places in a town.
II.
1. Vocabulary Revision.
1) Saying the words in English (Whole-class work).
Students look at the picture and say the word.
2) Guessing Game (Whole-class work).
Students guess the picture through the keyhole and say the word.
3) False Words (Whole-class work).
Students look at the picture, read the word and correct it.
4) Matching (Writing / Individual work).
Students match the pictures with the words.

2. Grammar Revision.
1) Sentence completion (Writing / Pair work).
Students complete the sentences with is / are.
1. There ___ two cinemas in my town.
2. There ___ a school in my town.
3. There ___ three supermarkets in my town.
4. There ___ a big park in my town.
5. There ___ four hospitals in my town.
2) Correcting the mistakes (Listening / Whole-class work).
Students stand up. The teacher says a sentence. If the sentence is correct, the students jump. If it’s wrong, the students clap their hands and then correct the sentence. Those who are wrong have to sit down. The last student left is the winner.
1. There is two cinemas in my town.
2. There is a zoo in my town.
3. There are a police station in my town.
4. There are three restaurants in my town.
5. There is playground in my town.
6. There are five supermarket in my town.
7. There is a pet shop in my town.
8. There are one toy shop in my town.

3) Don’t break the chain (Speaking / Whole-class work).
One student says a sentence, using there is / there are. The second student says the same sentence and adds another place in a town, using and. Students continue at the same manner. The student who doesn’t remember the exact order or forgets some place in a town is out.
3. Brain Break. Song “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes”.

4. A Guessing Game (Speaking / Whole-class work).
One student gets a picture of a town. The rest of the class have to guess what place there is in his/her town by asking: Is there a ... in your town? When all the places in the town have been identified, the student describes it, e.g. This is my town. There is a school in my town. There are two hospitals and three supermarkets in my town.
5. Read and draw (Reading / Group work).
Students read a text and draw a picture of the town described in it. Then the groups present their pictures and descriptions to the class.
Group 1. This is my town. There are two hospitals and three schools in my town. There is a big park and a cinema in my town.
Group 2. This is my town. There are three supermarkets and two restaurants in my town. There is a police station and a toy shop in my town.
Group 3. This is my town. There are two pet shops and three supermarkets in my town. There is a big playground and a zoo in my town.
Group 4. This is my town. There are three supermarkets and two hospitals in my town. There is a restaurant and a cinema in my town.
Group 5. This is my town. There are two schools and three toy shops in my town. There is a big hospital and a police station in my town.
