Lesson Aim

Students will repeat the vocabulary on the topic “Food”; use in practice the Present Simple Tense; complete sentences using some, any

Learning Outcomes

 activated some words and word-combinations in speaking;

 practiced in making sentences in using Present Simple;

 developed students` creative abilities;

 developed students` speaking, reading, listening and speaking skills;

  focused on advanced learning English;

 practiced students in pair activities.

Lesson procedure:

1. Greeting and Warming up

Phonetic drill.

Let’s sing a song “I like to eat…” and repeat the sounds

2. Aim

      Today we’ll speak about … (food). We are going to play, sing, dance, read, write and speak English. For each answer you will get a smile). At the end of our lesson I’ll put marks for the number of your smiles.  

3. Proverbs

-  Students, come to the blackboard and connect two parts of the proverbs

4. Find the odd word. Work in pairs. 

- Dear students, let’s review vocabulary on the topic “Food”. You should find the odd word. Work with cards.

5. Game “ A Strange Man”

• Let’s play! I’ve got a portrait of a strange man but his face is made of different fruit and vegetables. Name the parts of his face and get a smile for your answer

6. Listening.

• Listen to the text about Meggy’s likes and dislikes.

( after listening students get the cards with the texts)

• Look at the text again, read it.
• Hi, I am Meggy. My favorite food is .I can eat it every day. I also love , cakes and fruit. Apples and are very nice. I eat vegetable  salads with rice or . I don`t eat meat, but I like and milk. I usually drink a lot of   and a lot of water. juice is very tasty. I don’t drink much coffee or .

7. Post – listening activity. Writing

• These cards are the same but instead pictures you should put the words.

8. Grammar revising (some/any, Present Simple Tense).

1. Correct  mistakes

• I’d like any water, please.
• Are there much pupils in the class?
• Is there some cheese in the fridge?
• Give me any sweets, please.

2. Put some or any. Work with worksheets.

• Have you got___apples in your bag?

• There aren’t___bananas in the cupboard.
• There isn’t___sugar in the coffee.

3. Look at the blackboard and let’s make the sentences about children’s likes and dislikes. Use Present Simple. For example: Mary likes apples. Nick doesn’t like oranges.

9. Riddles

• Listen and guess:
