Procedure:
Greeting
Good morning boys and girls! I’m glad to see you. Let’s start our lesson with a song “Hello”. Pupils listen and sing a song “Hello”.
Warm-up
Ask pupils to look at the numbers and repeat after you. Start writing a number between 1 and 10 very slowly on the board. Pupils guess the number. Repeat with other numbers. Pupils take turns to write the numbers.
Presentation
• Use flashcards (Colours) to introduce the vocabulary for this lesson. • Hold them up one at a time and ask “What colour is this?“ Say the words for children to repeat in chorus. For example: Hold up flashcard (red) and say “What colour is it?” Point to it and say “It's red.” • Repeat with the rest of flashcards to practise all the colours. • Once pupils have learnt the words, go around the class practicing with individual children.
Practice Game
• Show the flashcard, point to it and say “Red”. • Ask pupils to find some objects the same colour. Say “It’s red” and touch or point at the colour on the objects . • Repeat with the other colours and other objects.
Practice Make a project (card)
• Give objects the pupils a sheet of paper and pencils if they don’ t have any • Tell them are going to make a card for mothers. • Show them how to told it in half and where to draw the rainbow and write a message. • Write on the board what pupils should write on the front their card: Mummy I love you! • Give pupils clear instructions about what they should do inside their cards. • For example : “Take your red pencil.” Draw red arch.” •Make sure they take the pencil of the appropriate colour. These procedures repeat . • Pupils work individually.
Ending
•Say this chant. •Play the tape and demonstrate the actions. Pupils repeat after you, pointing to the pictures . Pupils then recite with you, doing the actions. Repeat.
One, two, Red and Blue. Up and down, Yellow and Brown. Bow to a queen, Orange and Green. Look at a kite, Black and White.
