Тема: Dealing with computers.

(За підручником Bob Hastings, Marta Uminska, Dominika Chandler “Longman Exam Activator”)

 

Мета: Розвивати та активізувати навички усного мовлення по темі “Комп'ютери”, стимулювати учнів використовувати спеціальну лексику по даній темі, розвивати навички читання з метою знаходження інформації, розвивати навички письма. Виховувати культуру спілкування, підтримувати інтерес до вивчення англійської мови.

 

План уроку.

 

І. Організаційний момент. Warming up.   

Brainstorm: “Computers are everywhere”. Develop the idea.

 

II. Nowadays we use computers in all spheres of our life.

Look at the picture and label the numbered elements in the picture.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

What can we do with a file or a document? Complete the table.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Complete the text with the words from the box.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Speaking.

Have you ever had a similar problem? What happened? What did you do?

 

How do you feel about computers?

Do you think they are great/ awful/ problematic but necessary?

What do you use computers for?

 

Reading.

Do you agree that computer literacy is important now? Read the dialogue (Ex.4, p.194-195) and say why it is important to be a competent computer user nowadays.

 

Speaking.

I’ll divide you into two groups. Discuss the pros and cons of the Internet.

The students of group A will give arguments about the advantages of the Internet.

The students of group B will talk about some negative aspects of using the Internet such as Internet addiction, violation of people/s security and privacy, hacking etc.

 

 

Writing.

Write a paragraph about how you use computers. Include the following points:

- when you use it;

- why you use it;

- how much time you spend in front of the computer screen;

- what you do when you are away from the computer.

Prepare for the discussion: “The ways in which the Internet can be used in education, communication, entertainment, work. What possible problems might be connected with it.”
