Мета: формувати іншомовну комунікативну компетенцію з теми «Свята і традиції», семантизувати нові ЛО, практикувати їх вживання в усному мовленні та на письмі, навчати учнів будувати діалог-розпитування, виховувати в учнів повагу та інтерес до свят України та Великобританії;
Очікувані результати: на кінець уроку учні зможуть складати діалог-розпитування про своє улюблене свято.
Обладнання: підручник, робочий зошит, картки з ЛО, картки з роздатковим матеріалом.
Перебіг уроку
І. Підготовка до сприйняття іншомовного мовлення
Етап 1. Початок уроку. Організація класу.
Мета: повідомлення цілей уроку.
Прийом: вступне слово вчителя, бесіда з учнями.
T: Good morning. How are you today? I’m glad to see you. Today we are going to start learning new topic. Look at the blackboard. There are different pictures. So, we’ll speak about…
Ps: Holidays!
T: Yes, you are right. Today we’ll speak about holidays you know and you celebrate every year, read children’s letter and listen to the text to find out about some other holidays.
Етап 2. Уведення в іншомовну атмосферу.
Мета: налаштувати учнів на іншомовне спілкування.
Прийом 1: фонетична зарядка.
T: To begin with let’s train pronunciation to speak English well. Let’s learn new tongue twister to train sounds /b/, /t/. Listen to the tape recorder and then repeat:

T: It’s spring now, a very beautiful and splendid time of the year. Let’s learn a poem about this season:

Прийом 2: мовленнєва зарядка.
T: Pupils, tell me, please, what month is it now? What’s the weather like today? Do you like today’s weather? What do you usually do in such weather?
Етап 3. Перевірка домашнього завдання.
T: Okay and now let’s check your home task to revise the material from the previous lesson.
ІІ. Основна частина уроку
Етап 4. Бесіда за темою уроку.
Мета: семантизувати ЛО теми.
Прийом 1: бесіда з учнями.
T: Look at the blackboard. There are some pictures. What holidays can you see here?
T: The holidays are Christmas, Easter, New Year’s Day, Halloween, Mother’s Day. Do you know all of these holidays? Do you celebrate them every year? What is your favourite holiday?
T: Now open your textbooks at p. 166 and find ex. 1. Look at the pictures and now match them with the names of holidays. What holidays do Ukrainians celebrate? What countries do people celebrate these holidays in?
T: How do we greet people with New Year?
Ps: Happy New Year.
T: How do we greet people with Christmas?
Ps: Merry Christmas.
T: How do we greet people with Easter? Christ is risen! He is risen indeed!
T: How do we greet people with Mother’s day?
Ps: Happy Mother’s day!
T: How do we greet people with Halloween?
Ps: Trick or treat!

Прийом 2: виконання письмової вправи (РЗ, впр. 1, С. 90).
T: Open your workbooks at p. 90 and find ex. 1. Look at the pictures. What holidays are there? Ps: There are New Year, Christmas, Easter, St. Valentine’s Day, Independence Day.
T: When do we celebrate New Year, Christmas, Easter, St. Valentine’s Day, Independence Day? Let’s write your answers down in your workbooks.
P1: We celebrate New Year on the 31th of December.
P2: We celebrate Christmas on the 7th of January.
P3: We celebrate Easter in April or May.
P4: We celebrate St. Valentine’s Day on the 14th of February.
P5: We celebrate Independence Day on the 24th of August.
Прийом 3: робота в групах, виготовлення плакату свят.
T: Let’s split into 4 groups. Each group has a set of cards with different pictures. Your task is to divide them into 5 columns according to holidays. Then make a poster of these holidays and tell us what the symbols of each holiday are.
Етап 5. Розвиток комунікативних навичок учнів.
Мета: розвивати в учнів навички діалогічного мовлення.
Прийом 1: робота в режимі T-Ps.
T: What is your favourite holiday?
P1: It’s Christmas.
T: When do you celebrate Christmas?
P2: We celebrate Christmas on the 7th of January.
T: Where do you celebrate Christmas?
P3: We celebrate Christmas at home with our family.
T: What do you buy for this holiday?
P4: We buy tasty food and many presents for this holiday.
T: Who do you celebrate the holiday with?
P5: I celebrate the holiday with my family.
T: What do you usually do?
P6: We have a party.
T: What do you usually cook?
P7: We cook Christmas cake and turkey.
T: How many quests usually come to your place?
P8: Five quests usually come to my place to celebrate Christmas.
Прийом 2: робота в режимі P1-P2 (впр. 2, С. 166).
T: Now discuss with your partner your favourite holiday and what you do on this holiday. Use the prompts from ex. 2 on p. 166 for help. Also you may use the table on the blackboard to say correctly when you celebrate the holiday.

Прийом: виконання фізичних вправ у жартівливій формі.

Етап 7. Подання тексту для читання.
Мета: навчати учнів ознайомлювальному читанню.
Прийом: читання мовчки.
1) Pre-reading stage – бесіда з учнями.
T: Do you like to celebrate holidays? How many people do you usually invite? Do you send postcards or invitations?
2) Reading stage – читання тексту (впр. 3, С. 167).
T: Let’s read the invitations and find out what holidays children are going to celebrate. Open your textbooks at p. 167 and find ex. 3. Read it.
3) Post-reading stage – перевірка розуміння прочитаного тексту.
T: So, what is the occasion? Who is inviting whom? When and where do the events take place?
Етап 8. Аудіювання.
Мета: розвивати слухові навички учнів та вміння вилучати необхідну інформацію з прослуханого тексту.
Прийом: активне слухання.
