Pupils: We’re fine, thank you.
Teacher: Where is …? What’s the matter with him/her?
Pupils: She/he is ill.
Teacher: Dear children, today I prepare for a proverb. Let’s read it and guess what it is about.
The pupils read the proverb and try to explain it.
Teacher: So, as you’ve already guessed today we’ll speak about the wether. Look, what’s the weather like today? Do you like it? Why? What can you do when the weather is bad? What kind of weather do you like? Why?
Teacher: And now you let’s revise what can you tell me when you hear the word “weather”.
The pupils say all the words that come to their mind connected with the weather.
cold winter sunny fine
cool thunder
bad nasty fog snowfall
air heat
Teacher: As you see, we know a lot of words that help us to describe the weather. But today I’d like to present you some more words and phrases that we can use in our speech.

Teacher: I propose you to listen to the story about two gentlemen and then choose the right answer.
Tapescript: Two men were travelling in a very wild part of America. They didn’t see modern houses for many days. What they saw were only tents where Indians lived. One day they met an old Indian who was a hunter. He was very clever and knew everything about the forest and the animals living in it and many other things. He could also speak English quite well.
"Can you tell us what the weather will be like during the next few days?" one of the travellers asked him.
"Oh, yes," he answered. "Rain is coming, and wind. Then there will be snow for a day or two but then the sunshine will come again and the weather will be fine."
"These old Indians seem to know more about Nature than we with all our science," said the man to his friend. Then he turned to the old Indian.
"Tell me," he asked, "how do you know all that?"
The Indian answered: "I heard it over the radio."
