“What is the weather like today?”

Тема: Природа і навколишнє середовище.

Підтема: Яка сьогодні погода?

Мета:

Навчальна: ознайомити з новими лексичними одиницями за темою «Природа та навколишнє середовище», активізувати вивчений лексико-граматичний матеріал, вдосконалювати компетен­ції читання, аудіювання й усного монологічного мовлення, відпрацювати вимову звука [w].

Освітня: розширити знання учнів по темі.

Розвиваюча: розвивати логічне мислення, увагу та зорову пам'ять, спостережли­вість, удосконалювати фонетику та артикуляцію звуків, розвивати усні комунікатив­ні уміння з опорою на наочність, ефективно співпрацювати під час парної та групової роботи, мотивувати готовність брати участь в іншомовному спілкуванні.

Виховна: виховувати зацікавленість у розширенні свої знань, скріплення навчаль­ного матеріалу з життям, загальну культуру учнів.

Тип уроку: урок формування мовленнєвих умінь та навичок

Обладнання: наочність до теми, підручник «English 4» Карп’юк О.Д.,- 2015;  таблиця «Пори року», тематичні картки.

Хід уроку

І Організаційна частина

1.     Привітання

T: Good morning, pupils. Glad to see you. How are you?

P: We are fine, thank you and you?

T: I am fine too, thank you. Today we have an unusual lesson. Many guests are visiting our lesson. Dear guests, we are glad to welcome you to our English lesson.

2.  Уведення в іншомовну атмосферу

T: Let's play game  “ Interesting code” (Робота в групах).You need to guess the word.

T: What word did you get?

3. Фонетична зарядка

T: Children, let's prepare our mouth to the pronunciation of English sounds. Look at the blackboard. Listen and read the poem:

[w] – [w] – [w]
When the weather is wet 
We must not fret
When the weather is warm 
We must not storm

ІІ Основна частина

1. Повідомлення теми і мети уроку.

T: Today we are going to speak about different seasons and weather. We’ll practice our skills in speaking and reading, listening and writing. I wish you to be calm and to work well. First, I want to show you a short video. 

Now answer my questions:

•      How many seasons are there in a year?
•      How many months are there in a season?
•      How many months are there in a year?
•      What seasons do you know?
•      What season is it now?

2. Подання речень для читання.

T: Read the sentences and guess which season it is.

(Учні по черзі читають речення і йдуть до дошки, де магнітик прикріпляють у відповідній колонці тієї пори року про яку i йде мова у реченні.)

It is a good time for playing snowballs and skiing. (winter)

Pupils start going to school. (autumn)

It often snows and the weather is frosty. (winter)

Leaves in the trees are multicolored. (autumn)

It is time for «Indian» summer. (autumn)

People celebrate Christmas and New Year. (winter)

It is the warmest season of the year. (summer)

We celebrate Easter. ( spring)

Grass is green and there are a lot of flowers everywhere. (summer)

We have got many holidays this season. (winter)

We celebrate Mothers day. (spring)

Listen and repeat (p. 98, ex. 1).

T: Look at the flash cards. Read the words.

Wet. It is wet.

Foggy. It is foggy.

Muddy. It is muddy.

Frosty. It is frosty.

T: Look through the window and let's describe today's weather. (Відповіді дітей).

T: And now complete the sentences with the words from task 1 and the box (p. 98, ex. 2).

1.   In winter, it is usually frosty and cold.
2.    In spring, it is usually wet and cool.
3.    In summer, it is usually warm and hot.
4.    In autumn, it is usually rainy and windy.

   1.     Read and match (p. 98, ex. 3).

T: Pupils look at the table and read the correct sentences.

2.     Read and fill in the blanks

My favourite (1) season is spring. I like it because there (2) _______ green grass and (3) ______ beautiful flowers. There are a lot of green (4) _______ on the trees. It isn’t usually (5) _______ in spring. But it is usually (6) ________ and foggy during this lesson.

T: Say about your favourite season. Children fill the gaps using "My favourite season is ..." to make true statements about yourselves.

T: Well done! And now tell me what season you don’t like and why.

     T: Our lesson is coming to its end. Today we have spoken about seasons and weather. Did you like the lesson?  Have you learnt anything new about your favourite seasons?
