WE AND OUR NATURE

Our life becomes more______ and more interesting. But we seldom think that the majority of______ bring harm to a man. Today the greatest problem for humanity is______. Pollution is the______ of the environment including air, water and land. This problem is______ typical for heavily______ cities and towns where metallurgical plants, steel mills, mines, chemical plants are situated. Uncontrolled emissions of harmful______ and dust pollute everything around us. Very often they are the reason of_____ rains poisoning earth and water, destroying forests and even buildings.

It is worth______ that one third of all emissions into the atmosphere originates from automobile transport.

During some period of time it was considered that______ power stations were safe. In 1986______ disaster showed that nuclear energy can be extremely dangerous. Large areas of agricultural and forest lands of Ukraine, Belarus and Russia will remain unsafe for a man for eight thousand years.

Another problem of big cities is _____. The wastes from plants and _____ contaminate water and soil. Household wastes such as all kinds of plastics and so on remain_____ for tens of years. Another reason of soil poisoning is the use of materials which help agricultural products to grow fast but these products are_____ for man.

The list of problems may be endless –______effect, ozone holes, etc. It is clear that it is necessary to use______ equipment at the plants and factories look for wasteless technologies, learn to use natural sources of energy, such as wind and sun, use new recycling technologies.

Робота в парах. Say what damage people have done to nature by treating their environment so carelessly and what people and personally you can do to improve ecological situation in our town.

                   How should it be?

                   How shouldn?t  it be?

                   How does it look like?

                   What depends on me?
