Мета:
перевірити досягнення предметних компетентностей учнів з теми «Спорт»; закріплювати вміння застосовувати отримані знання на практиці під час виконання вправ; удосконалювати мовленнєві компетенції (говоріння, читання, письмо, аудіювання); ефективно співпрацювати під час роботи, розвивати слух, пам’ять, увагу, логічне мислення, уяву; мотивувати учнів брати участь в іншомовному спілкуванні; виховувати вміння сконцентруватися, слухати інших, формувати доброзичливу атмосферу в класі.

спілкування іноземними мовами: реалізується через предметні компетентності;

ІІ. Етап цілепокладання.
T: I wish you good luck too. So, today we’ll speak on the topic “Popular sports and games”. You’ll revise and enrich your vocabulary, develop your listening, reading, writing and speaking skills and speak about the famous Ukrainian sportsmen.
T: Why do we need to learn this theme?

T: This theme is very actual. In order to be a well-developed personality, we must know all the sports and their significance in life and we can communicate with foreign friends. This lesson is the last before the test.
We have to do a lot of work at our lesson today. So, be active, attentive, don't cry, raise your hands and answer because at the end of the lesson I'll give you medals for your activity.
You had to revise all material you've learnt for today. Now I'll give you cards with the tasks. If you do them correctly you'll get 7 points. The next points you can get during the lesson.

T: On the blackboard you can see some pictures of different kinds of sport and the sportsmen who do these sports. Tell us what sport is it? Who is the sportsman?

T: I propose you to listen to a TV interview about popular sports in Canada.. You have to listen very attentively. I’ll give you the cards and you have to write all kinds of sports you’ll hear.

P: … And finally, a new report from the Canadian Fitness Institute shows that Canadians need to get more exercise.
CB: Well, Canadians don't hate doing sports but we are not very active. For example, only 21% of us go to a gym and do aerobics. What the report shows is that men and women like different sports. Men like going jogging and playing golf. 33 % of Canadians go jogging but men also prefer team sports, such as basketball and volleyball. However, only 17% of us play them. Women don't mind playing team games but they love doing aerobics and going swimming and cycling. In total, 57% of Canadians go swimming and 55% go cycling.
P: What sport do Canadians like the most?
CB: Canadians don't like doing sport in generall but they love walking. 86% of Canadians say walking is their favourite sport.

T: So, we continue playing. I have something for you. It's a very interesting task for you. There are sheets of papers with questions and answers. Put these sentences into the correct order and make up a dialogue.
John: What sports do you do?
Patrick: I play basketball.
John: When do you train?
Patrick: I usually train in the afternoon, after school.
John: When does the training start?
Patrick: At 5 o’clock.
John: How long does the training last?
Patrick: It lasts for 90 minutes.

Patrick: At a local sports club, but I also play for my s school.
John: Who is your coach?

John: Why do you like basketball?
Patrick: Because it’s a team sport, its fast and exciting.
T: We do different activities with different kinds of sport but you must remember when do we use them:
GO – if you speak about sports ending in – ing ( You go swimming).
PLAY – if you speak about ball games and chess ( You play football. We play chess).
DO – if you speak about other sports ( You do athletics).
