Тема уроку: “ Традиції святкування в Україні та Великобританії.“

                           “British and Ukrainian holiday celebration.”

Мета: вдосконалювати в учнів мовні навички, активізувати лексичні одиниці                в діалогічному мовленні, розширити світогляд дітей, формувати краєзнавчі, соціокультурні знання;

розвивати фонематичний та інтонаційний слух, аудитивну пам’ять та увагу, логічне мислення та творчі здібності;

виховувати культуру спілкування та повагу до традицій інших народів.

Тип уроку: урок  технології розвитку критичного мислення.

Обладнання: підручник, ноутбук, роздатковий матеріал, ілюстративні картки, тексти віршів, привітань та пісень, карта.

                                           Procedure.

1. Introduction.

1. Greeting. Вітання.

Good morning, dear boys and girls!

Good morning, dear guests!

What a fine morning!

The day is sunny and so bright.

My dear Sveta, am I right?

I am glad to greet you at our English lesson. How are you?

Good friends – good times!

Good health – good cheer!

And happy day throughout the year!

2. Warming up.

1) brainstorm;

Look! Who is it? Do you know it?

It is a bear, Winnie-the-Pooh.

Look, it is a very sad. Why?

Winnie wants to go to the rabbit’s birthday, but it has not a present. It has not a balloon. Let’s give him a balloon. Oh, look! It is a happy! Are you a happy too?

He is happy,

They are happy, too.

--Why do you happy? Winnie goes to the rabbit’s birthday!

Let’s speak about holidays at our today’s lesson! Do you like holidays?

Everybody waits for present, congratulations of happiness, good luck and many happy returns. There are many holidays in Ukraine, which we like and celebrate.

2. Pair work. Ex. 2, p. 88 (match, then ask and answer in pairs).

-What holiday we have today? Do you know it? It comes in Ukraine from England.

-It is Valentine’s Day!

-Do you like this holiday in Ukraine?

-Yes, we do. Every country and every nation has its own tradition. Englishmen are proud of their traditions.

4. Making-up mind map. Ex.3, p. 89.

Holiday, Valentine’s Day, greeting card, present, romantic, heart, celebrate,

February, favourite.

2) while-reading activity. Ex.4, p. 89(listen and say).

3) post-reading activity (act out the dialogue).

1) Pre- listening task (listen to the song lyrics video for kids).

The third one said: I will if you’ll be mine.

The fourth one said: I’ll always be your friend.
