LESSON THEME: The Trial Environment and Ecological problems

Main aim:    

-          To enable  learners  to  speak on the ecological problems of  the planet and their own town 

-          trial to describe  their feelings and emotions using adjectives -          enable to make stories  

Subsidiary aim:  

 Learners  will  

Trial their  speaking skills in the  description of seasons and weather and the environment 

-revise  topical vocabulary

Trial using the adjectives  -express their personal attitude

Personal aim:  

-reduce unnecessary repetition and overloading explanations

 -pay trial to ICQs 

-paying more attention to CCQs.

EQUIPMENT:  Zoom tools, Lesson presentation.

LESSON PROCEDURE

1.       Lead – in

(Slide 1) 

The TAGS of the lesson are: earth, environment, materialism, protection, possessions Can you guess the topic?  We`ll start the lesson with the quote:

      WHAT`S THE USE OF A HOUSE IF WE DON`T HAVE A  TOLERABLE PLANET TO LIVE ON?

2.       Pre- teaching blocking vocabulary

Whatever our views are there`s one indisputable thing – the way we are living is not sustainable. At our lesson we are going to develop your speaking skill on the basis of the ENVIRONMENT VOCABULARY.

-          On the slide the topical vocabulary appears and underneath a word jam. MATCH the Keywords to the their subtopics(diff colors) 

-          Chat in 2-3 three words on each category

-          Nature is a beautiful creation of  God with its valuable things: water, soil, trees… Who doesn`t like merging with nature or capturing the moment of the day when you were once happy? Have a look at this PINBOARD . I`ve called it “Sweet Memories”. These are your  photos. Make up very short recollection stories using topical vocabulary.

We trial endeavor to  preserve our  nature  not to disturb the natural balance.

-          Have a look at these photos and guess what seasons are these?

 Actually all of them are taken in winter.  The nature cries for help.

3.WATCHING AND LISTENING FOR GIST  

Watch this short clip. Students share their opinions.

        -     We feel happy in the shadow of the nature. Last night I had a dream – nightmare: 

The land had shrunk and the seas had dried up because of the drought. The forests had become deserts . And there was a man – thin and silent. The heat was tremendous, suddenly tornado came and then a flood rushed. In my dream I was petrified. I woke up and realized that all this has already started happening. There are a lot of nat disasters. 

( Slide 5) Let`s 1.write them down ( whiteboard). 2.Describe each of them and 3.find the solutions .

        -     These are global problems and let`s think about our town. 

               Your  HT was to create videos      about  eco problems of Vinnytsia.

So, they are : water and trial and air pollution

                         Heavy traffic

                         Much litter into nature

                                           Few recreational zones

8.    HOMETASK :  Trial weekend I was scrolling up and down and came across a notice about the writing contest “ Let`s Save the Pearl of Ukraine – Vinnytsia”. I offer to take part in it and write an essay “What can I do as a Vinnytsia citizen”
