Distribute domino cards (HO2 (Додаток 4 Appendix1) among students.
Ask them to play domino. Every domino card has the QR code of a gadget picture and the printed name of another gadget. Students have to match the picture, coded by QR code with the name of the thing in the other picture.
Ask students to tell about their favourite gadget (possibly most students will say it is a mobile phone).
Ask SS to explain – why.
Elicit students to compare their reasons with the poem author’s one.
Ask students to listen to or read the poem from Exercise1 page120. Then ask them to compare the reasons and answer the questions from the exercise.
Have students answer the questions from Exercise1 page120.
Tell the class to skim the text from Exercise 2 page121. Elicit them to explain what this text is about. (Possible answer – about the history of the mobile telephone)
Ask students to do Exercise 2 page 121 on their own in 10 minutes. Then ask them to play Kahoot! to check the results. For that say them to follow the link: https://kahoot.it (Додаток 4 Appendix2) and do all the instructions there. Supply the students with the game code, generated by the platform after you follow the link: https://create.kahoot.it/details/exercise-2-page-121/3a9f0e72-922f-4743-80de-205acb95cca4 and join the game.
You can also use the QR codes or shortened links from “Додаток 4”. After the game, check the students’ results.
Tell the class to match the paragraphs with the topics of Exercise 3 page122.
Ask students to share their favourite activities from the lesson.
