    Тема  Спорт в Великобританії. Введення нової лексики.Sport in Great Britain.

Мета  Ввести в усне та писемне мовлення учнів нові лексичні одиниці по темі «Спорт в Великобританії»; поглибити знання учнів про вже відомі їм види спорту та ознайомити з популярними видами спорту Британії;
Сприяти розвитку інтелекту учнів, нахилів і здібностей; розвивати навички всіх видів мовної діяльності; виховувати в учнів переконання здорового способу життя, необхідності систематичних занять фізкультурою та спортом.
Обладнання: тематичні картинки, аудіозаписи, підстановочні таблиці, картки для індивідуальної роботи, підручник О.Карп’юк “ English 7”.

Хід уроку

1.Привітання.Повідомлення теми та мети уроку                                                             

-     Good morning dear girls and boys. I am glad to see you. Sit down, please. Who is absent today?

T:The theme of our lesson is « Sport in Great Britain ». Today we’ll speak about sport  in our life аnd in Great Britain. We’ll work together. Let’s start.

    1)   Now you must finish  the proverbs. I’ll give you cards with the beginning of proverbs. You will show the cards to the opposite team, they will read and finish the proverb.

1. Health is ... (better than wealth)

3. Early to bed ... (early to rise, makes one man healthy wealthy and wise)
4. An apple a day ... (keeps the doctors away).
5. Good health is … (better than wealth).
6. Eat with pleasure, … (drink with measure).

    2) What kinds of sport do you know? Do the task. Mark the pictures with the box. Then listen, check and repeat. ( додаток)

    3)  Give one word for the following definitions

- A game for two teams that you play with a ball and a basket.(basketball)

- A game that you play on board.(chess)

- A game for two teams that you play with the sticks on the ice-ground.(ice- hockey)

- A game for two people that you play with a small ball on the table. (table -tennis)

- This kind of sport includes things like running, jumping, etc. (athletics)

5) Розповідь про спорт в Великобританії

Sport in Great Britain

Most people in Great Britain are real sport-lovers. Even if they don't go in for sport, they like to talk about it. Perhaps, you didn't know, but many kinds of sport have taken the origin in Great Britain. Cricket, football, rugby, tennis, table tennis, badminton, squash, canoeing and snooker were invented in Britain.

Britain's national sport is football or soccer. It was played there as far back as medieval times. Nowadays it has become the most popular game all over the world.

There is a certain type of football called rugby. The game is called so because it was originated at Rugby — a well-known English public school. As well as common football it is a game played by two teams of fifteen players each. The game takes place on a field 100 metres long and 80 metres wide. There are goal posts at both ends of the field. Rugby is played with an oval or egg-shaped ball which can be carried by hands and kicked.  Cricket is a popular summer sport in Britain. There are many cricket clubs in the country. Cricket players wear a certain uniform — white boots, a white T-shirt and white trousers. One cricket game takes a terribly long time. There are two teams of 11 players each and test matches between national teams can last up to 5 days. The spectators have to be very patient. The game is played on a pitch with a wicket at each end. The rules of the game have changed over the years. It is a game which is associated with long sunny summer afternoons, the smell of new-mown grass and the sound of leather ball beating the willow cricket bat. Cricket is more popular among men, but it is also played by women and girls.

Tennis is another favourite sport of the Englishmen. People all over the world know Wimbledon which is the centre of lawn tennis. It is the oldest tennis tournament in the world.

Golf is a game of business community. The equipment for this game is quite expensive. Golf is a ball and golf stick game played on a natural field. In this game one has to knock a ball into a hole.

There are a lot of other popular sports in Great Britain, for example, horseracing, swimming, running, cycling and rowing.

 T. Now we’ll have a group work. Please, make two groups. I’ll give you cards with phrases. Your task    will be to make dialogues with them. Then you’ll act this dialogue.

Учні складають з поданих фраз діалог. Група, яка виконала завдання першою, розігрує діалог. Потім можливість продемонструвати виконане завдання надається другій групі.

Dialogue.

Dan: Do you like sports?

Bob: Yes, I do.

Dan: What sports do you go in for?

Bob: I go in for hockey in winter and football in summer. And what about you?

Dan: I like skating in winter and volleyball and tennis in summer.

Bob: Can you play tennis well?

      Dan: Yes, I can. And what sport game can you play well?

           Bob: I think I can play hockey well. I want to be a sportsman.

      Dan: Oh, that’s fine.
