“Youth Organisations and Subcultures”.
Aims:
Aids: a computer, an English language teaching programme “Word on the Street” co produced by the British Council and BBC.
Procedure:
Introduction:
T: Good morning, dear friends! I am glad to meet you again in our English room. So, today we are going to continue our journey in the world of youth subcultures. You are welcome to join and to be active participants. So, let’s start!
What did we speak on the previous lesson about?
P: We spoke about different youth cultures and why young people join this or that organization.
T: Yes, and today we are going to watch an episode about a great place for shopping in London, about Camden Market and see what young people can buy there.
Pre-viewing Activities:
- Say how you usually choose birthday presents.
- Language anticipation:
Read the words and phrases and name those which are typical of youth fashion in the 21 century:
Cyber-goth, punk, to create new looks, alternative music, aggressive futurric style, baggy trousers, spiky hear.
- Many shoppers have less money to spend these days. Think and decide how much it is true about Ukraine.
- You are going to watch an episode about Camden Market in London. This place is considered to be great for shopping. Try to predict two reasons for that.
