Introduction:

T: Good morning, dear friends! I am glad to meet you again in our English room. So, today we are going to continue our journey in the world of youth subcultures. You are welcome to join and to be active participants. So, let’s start!

What did we speak on the previous lesson about?

P: We spoke about different youth cultures and why young people join this or that organization.

T: Yes, and today we are going to watch an episode about a great place for shopping in London, about Camden Market and see what young people can buy there.

Pre-viewing Activities:

- Say how you usually choose birthday presents.

 -    Language anticipation:

Read the words and phrases and name those which are typical of youth fashion in the 21 century:

Cyber-goth, punk, to create new looks, alternative music, aggressive futurric style, baggy trousers, spiky hear.

- Many shoppers have less money to spend these days. Think and decide how much it is true about Ukraine.

  4. Have you got them _____ medium?

Post-viewing Activities:

  2. Strike a conversation with a shop assistant at a department of your choice.
  3. Interview your classmates about fashion.

REFLECTION.

T: You are so bright!

Now you can see how English works in everyday life and you can present lively aspects of young British culture. You have also learned some new information about Camden Market and some new youth subcultures. It’s up to you to decide what fashion to follow and what clothes to wear. But the main thing, I should say, is to have your own point of view and to be able to follow it under any circumstances. So good luck to you. And remember: you are lovable and capable.

Home assignment:

Present the findings you have made in the class in the form of a poster.
