Про матеріал
На уроці учні знайомляться з лексикою, пов’язаною з блогінгом і соціальними мережами, та розвивають навички усного мовлення. Вони вчаться висловлювати та аргументувати власну думку, порівнювати різні види блогерів, описувати контент і демонструвати мовленнєву ініціативу. У процесі інтерактивних завдань (міні-презентацій, дискусій у групах або парах) учні активно використовують сучасну лексику і фрази для висловлення поглядів. Урок завершується рефлексією та творчим домашнім завданням у формі короткого опису улюбленого блогера.

1. Warm-up

Goal: Activate interest and background knowledge

Activities:

  • Quick poll:

Do you follow bloggers? Who is your favourite? Why?

  • On the board: write categories — travel, fashion, gaming, lifestyle, education, fitness

What type of bloggers do you watch? (learners raise hands or add to list)

  • Optional: Show logos/icons (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram) — guess platform

2. Lead-in

Goal: Present vocabulary & structures for expressing opinions

Vocabulary focus:

  • follower, subscriber, content, channel, likes, comments, trend, platform, popular, creative

Useful phrases for speaking:

  • I think the best blogger is...
  • He/She is popular because...
  • Their content is interesting / creative / useful.
  • In my opinion... / I prefer... because...

Activity:

  • Match words to definitions or fill-in-the-blank phrases
  • Repetition and pronunciation practice

 

3. Pre-speaking

Goal: Prepare for speaking task through guided practice

Activities:

  • Pair work: Match a short description to a blogger photo
  • Teacher models a short opinion:

“I think MaxPlay is the best blogger. He plays games, and he is very funny. I like his energy.”

  • Learners practise similar sentences with a partner

4. Speaking

Goal: Develop fluency, opinion-sharing, and argumentation

Task options:

  1. Small group discussion (4–5 learners):

Each learner chooses a blogger card and presents them to the group.
Group votes: Who is the best blogger and why?

  1. Mini-presentations:

Learners present their chosen blogger in 4–5 sentences:
name, platform, content type, what they like, why they think the blogger is the best

  1. Debate (optional for strong groups):

One side: “Bloggers are a good influence”
Other side: “Bloggers are a bad influence”
(Short informal arguments)

5. Post-speaking

Goal: Reflect and reinforce speaking experience

Activities:

  • Vote: Who was the most convincing speaker?
  • Word cloud on board: adjectives learners used (creative, funny, smart, boring, helpful…)
  • Share 1–2 best sentences heard during the activity

 

6. Homework

Task:

  • Write a short blog comment or post (5–7 sentences) about your favourite blogger:
    • Who they are
    • What they do
    • Why you like them
    • Would you recommend them?

7. Feedback and reflection

Activities:

  • Quick reflection prompts:

Did you enjoy speaking today?
What new words or phrases did you use?
Would you like to become a blogger? Why/why not?

  • Learners rate themselves:
    • I spoke confidently
    • I expressed my opinion
    • I used new vocabulary
  • Teacher provides 1–2 positive examples from learners’ speech
