Lesson 3 (pp. 126, 127) (за підручником А. Несвіт. – Київ «Генеза»; 2013)

Тема уроку. The National Parks of Great Britain

Практична мета. Удосконалювати навички вживання Past Simple та артикля з географічними назвами.

Освітня мета. Поглибити знання учнів про Сполучене Королівство Великої Британії та Північної Ірландії.

Розвиваюча мета. Розвивати здатність порівнювати мовні явища рідної та англійської мов.

Виховна мета. Учити дітей працювати в парах та групах.

Обладнання уроку. Картки (у вигляді туристичних сумок) для групової роботи з лексичними одиницями, “квитки” на літак “Ukraine – Wales”, кроткі записи фільмів “The National Park of Snowdonia in Summer”, “The National Park of Snowdonia in Winter”, географічна карта Сполученого Королівства.

Хід уроку

І. Підготовка до сприйняття іншомовного мовлення.

 Вітання з учнями.

II. Основна частина уроку.

1. Warming-up у формі декодування теми уроку

(Учні стоять. Учитель ставить питання, учні по черзі відповідають на поставлені учителем питання і сідають, давши правильну відповідь. Коли останній учень дасть правильну відповідь, учитель сповіщає тему уроку).

T.: What is the capital of England?

P.1: London is the capital of England.

T.: What is the capital of Great Britain?

P.2: London is the capital of Great Britain.

T.: What is the capital of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland?

P.3: London is the capital of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

T.: What is the capital of Wales?

P.4: Cardiff is the capital of Wales.

T.: What is the capital of Scotland?

P.5: Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland.

T.: What is the capital of Northern Ireland?

P.6: Belfast is the capital of Northern Ireland.

T.: Where is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is situated?

P.7: The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is situated in Europe.

T.: What isles is it situated on?

P.8: It is situated on the British Isles.

T.: How many people live in the UK?

P.9: About 56 million people live in the UK.

T.: How many countries are there in the UK? Name them, please.

P.10: There are four countries are there in the UK: England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

T.: What is the official language of the country?

P.11: English is the official language of the country.

Teacher. Well done, children. So, we are going to talk about the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. I see you know some facts about the country and today continue to discover it for us. The theme of our lesson is “The National Parks of Great Britain”

By the end of the lesson you will be able to tell about the National Parks of Great Britain and activities people can do in summer and winter there.

3. Розвиток навичок грамматики

Teacher. Діти, я бачу, що з попереднього уроку ви зрозуміли правила вживання артикля з географічними назвами. Давайте узагальнимо їх. (Якщо учні затрудняються, учитель допомагає сформулювати їх.) As I have already promised we’ll continue to discover the UK. We’ll read about the National Parks of Great Britain and then let’s fly by plane to one of them today. So, you need to buy tickets for our travelling. Your correct answers will be your tickets.

4. Перевірка д / з Впр. 8, с. 125 (усне мовлення)

5. Виконання вправи № 2, с. 53 з робочого зошита з друкованою основою. Діти виконують вправу в парах, а потім завдання перевіряється, і коментуються правила вживання, або відсутності артикля з поданими словами та словосполученнями. (За правильні відповіді учні продовжують “купувати квитки” на літак “Ukraine – Wales”)

6. Робота в групах

Teacher. Thank you for your work, children. I see that you understand how to use articles with geographical names. All of you have bought the tickets. Now your task is to pack your travelling bags. You’ll work in groups. The task for the first group is to write activities people can do in winter. Another group’s task is to write activities people can do in summer (e.g. to take photos, to enjoy nature, to go boating,  etc.)

Коли учні готові, керівник групи зачитує написане учнями групи, і всі вирушають в уявну подорож.

7.  Teacher. At last we are in the plane. While being in Snowdonia, pay attention to what activities can people do in winter and in summer there. And now let’s have a rest and sing a song.

Діти співають пісню “If you are happy and you know it…” і виконують рухи, про які співають:

8. Країнознавчий матеріал про Сполучене Королівствo.

Учні працюють усією групою. Учитель читає незакінчені речення, діти вибирають правильний варіант, поданий учителем, і закінчують подане речення. У разі потреби вчитель допомагає їм впоратися з завданням:

9. Розвиток навичок читання (перевірка д/з)

Впр. 4, с. 127. Робота з текстом “The National Parks”

a) Pre-reading activity: опрацювання ЛО, поданих після тексту, які потрібно вставити у пропущені місця в тексті та деякі ЛО, необхідні для розуміння детальної інформації.

б) Reading of the text (читання за вчителем, читання ланцюжком, переклад окремих словосполучень з тексту)

в) After-reading activity

* географічні назви та артиклі з ними;

* відповіді учнів на питання до тексту.

10. Перегляд фрагменту фільму про Національний парк Сноудонія  влітку  та взимку. Під час перегляду діти коментують, якими видами діяльності можна займатися у ці пори року в Сноудонії.

ІІІ. Заключна частина уроку.

а) Домашнє завдання.

Teacher. Children, your hometask will be to tell your friend what you did in the National Park of Snowdonia in winter and in summer. You’ll tell in the Past Simple (Усі разом пригадують утворення цієї часової форми (з прикладами), і уточнюють, які дієслова є правильними, а які неправильними в англійській мові)

б) Підсумки уроку. (Про що дізналися, чого навчилися, що б ще хотіли  дізнатися)

в) Оцінювання учнів.
