Topic: Food. Day by day. Grammar: a/an/some/any, countable-uncountable nouns.

Suggested Level--elementary

Objectives:

to sum up the vocabulary on the topic “Food”
to practice using a/an/some/any; countable-uncountable nouns:

to practice listening skills;
to help students practice grammar skills;
to develop communicative skills and stimulate creative thinking through the project work.

Learning Outcomes. By the end of the lesson students will be able to:

use grammar rules, presented on the lesson;
use vocabulary related to the topic;
simulate the situation « what is in the fridge», can speak English about this topic ;

Equipment: Laptop, presentation, teacher`s cards, ………………………………………………..

*Introduction. Timing/Time

1.Greeting 1 min

2.Warming – up . Revising the transcription rules ( teacher`s cards), frotal oral work. 2 min

Main part

3.1. Presentation the topic through the proverb “An apple a day keeps a doctor away”

Translate it and explane what does it mean.

Guess the topic : Food” 4 min

3.2. Listening the presentation “Countable/uncountable nouns” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFaVsTDa_Lc 10 min

3.3. Discuss the presentation by the plan:

a) articles a/an

b) singular/plural nouns

c) there is/there are

d) some/any—teachers explanations ( on the blackboard)

3.4. Group work. Writing. Fill in the gabs.

3.5. The project.

T: imagine, that you are going to have a party. You invited some guests and want to treat them. You have the models of empty fridges, fill them with food which you want to serve on your party. Draw and write, use the structures “There is/There are”
