T.: Pupils, look at the blackboard and read the sentences. Pay attention to the words “can” and “can’t”.

Tom can play football.

Tom can’t play football.

Can Tom play football?

T.: Let’s make sentences after the table:

Pupils are making affirmative and negative sentences.

T.: Now, pupils, look at the pictures and try to make sentences. Use the words “can” or “can’t” and write them on the blackboard.

Boy/play ball;  bird/fly;  frog/jump; girl/cook;  fish/swim;  dog/run.

Snake/run; crocodile/fly; parrot/swim; cat/read; elephant/climb a tree.

Pair work. Making up dialogues.

T.: Great work! Now look at the table. These are questions with “can”.

Try to make up questions and answer them. Work in pairs.
