     T:-Many important things must be done in the world to save our planet from the ecological disaster.Today at the lesson we will speak about the problems of our planet,read the text how people in other countries try to solve them and try to give own advice to improve the world we live in.

3.Warming-up

    T:-Look at the pictures on the blackboard.What environmental problems do they show?

       -Sayhow many/much of the following our town has?

    -Which three things would you change to improve the place you live in?You may use your notes because it was your homework.

4.Workingwiththetext«The earth isin our hands»

1.     Pre-reading

  T:-Now,children,open your books at page 30.You can see a text on this page.

            -What is the title of the text?

            -What do the title and the quotation mean?

            -What do you expect to read?

b)Reading

    T:-Now,children,read the text and complete the sentences.

1.Roots help plants to be…(strong and healthy).

2.Although shoots appear tiny and weak,they…(can break open brick walls).

3.(Dr Jane Goodall)…started  Root & Shoots in …(1991).

4.The programme includes activities such as…(recycling programmes,cleaning uplocal parks,helping old people and the homeless and protecting the natural habitat oflocal animals).

9.Conclusion

T-Our planet is fragile because it is so easy to destroy its natural balance.When we kill our planet we actually kill ourselves.Our planet is in our hands because everything we have on it is done by us-people.We are responsible for the earth and it is up to us to save it.If we want to make our world a better place for everyone we just need to work together.

9.Homework:make a poster on any environmental problem to submit to Roots&Shoots annual completion.
