Тема уроку: City life – Country life

Цілі уроку:

• Навчальний аспект - поповнити та розширити знання учнів з теми “Lifestyles”; удосконалювати навички читання та усного мовлення.
• Розвиваючий аспект – розвивати в учнях комунікативну активність, мовну здогадку, уяву, увагу, спостережливість та пам'ять .
• Виховний аспект - виховувати культуру усної та писемної мови; прищеплювати інтерес до вивчення англійської мови; виховувати зацікавленість життям людей в місті та селі; сприяти виробленню позитивних емоцій у навчальній діяльності.

Тип уроку: комбінований

Методи: словесний, наочний, практичний, пізнавальний, проблемно-пошуковий.

Прийоми: показ, пояснення, тренування.

Обладнання: інтерактивна дошка, магнітофон, зошит, підручник, матеріал для роботи в групах, презентація, різнокольорові серця, стікери, валентинка.

T: Good afternoon!

P_s: Good afternoon, teacher!

T: Take your seats, please and tell me how you are today.

T: Who is absent today?

P₃: Karina and Zhenya  are absent today.

T: Are they ill?

P_4: Yes, they are.

T: What day is it today? What is the date?

P_5: Today is the fourteenth of February.

T: What holiday do we celebrate today?

P_s: St.Valentine’s Day.

T: What do people usually do on this holiday?

P_s: They send special cards for those who love.

T: Have you prepared for this holiday?

P_s: Yes, we have/ Not yet.

T: You still have time to do it. As for me, I am ready for this holiday. I have prepared valentines of  two different colours and now they are in front of  you. We’ll need them later. Do you know why we call this cards valentines?

P_s: Because of the priest Valentine.

T: Do you know where he lived?

P_s: He lived in Rome.

T: Is Rome a city or a village?

P_s: It is a city.

T: What kind of place would you like to live in?

P_s: In a city/ in the country.

T: Where is it better to raise children, in the city or in the country?

What are the benefits of living in the country? in the city?

Let’s find out during our today’s lesson. The theme of our lesson is “City life and Country life”.

P₁: Maybe, we shall read the letter.

P₃: We’ll discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the city life and the country life.

T: Yes, you are right. Today we’ll read the text about Annabel and Sarah’ experience on a reality show, do some exercises, rest a little bit, work in groups and practise grammar if we have time.

7. Work in groups

T: Take your things and students who have a red hearts sit here, with lilac hearts in the middle and with pink hearts there.

Fill in the table using words from the list below.

Using the table compare city life with country life as in the example. You may add ideas of your own.

E. g. If you live in the country, you can live in a farmhouse or a cottage, but if you live in the city you are more likely to live in a block of flats or a house.

1. T: Our lesson is coming to the end. I am going to give marks pupils who were very active.
2. Домашнє завдання.

T: If you want to get twelve points you have to do Ex. 10 p.11 in your PB

If you are satisfied with nine you have to do Ex.3 p.11 in your PB

If six is enough for you, you have to do only Ex.1 p.8 in your workbooks.

If three is enough for you, you have to write down the words and phrases of the theme Lifestyle p.129
