Підтема: День Землі – міжнародне свято.
Цілі уроку:
Практичні:
перевірити ступінь засвоєння граматичного та лексичного матеріалу;
навчити учнів висловлювати свої думки стосовно інформації, одержаної з тексту;
навчити учнів описувати свої хвилювання, висловлювати свою думку стосовно навколишнього середовища та захисту оточуючого середовища.
Освітня: привчати учнів до культури мови, що вивчається; розширювати їх світогляд.
Розвиваючі:
розвивати монологічне та діалогічне мовлення, механізми сприймання та осмислення інформації, логічного формулювання думок;
розвивати пам‘ять та увагу;
розвивати мовну здогадку та мовленнєву реакцію;
розвивати здатність порівнювати мовні явища української та німецької мов.
Виховна: виховувати в учнів прагнення навчатися та отримувати нові знання, прагнення досконалості та розвитку позитивних рис характеру.

Organization moment. Today we continue speaking about our Environment! We are going to speak about Earth Day. First of all, say some words about your weekend!

The Earth is a home to millions of different kinds of living things, which are linked in many ways. Together, they make up the complex world nature. Some are rivals or enemies while others depend on each other for survival. The word environment means simply what is around us. The air we breathe, the soil on which we stand and work the water we drink are all part of the environment. However, nowadays we have many ecological problems.
People everywhere
Breathe the same air,
Share the same seas,
Live together on the land.
People everywhere
Who learn, plan
Work, care
We can save the Earth.
Imagine it’s our Earth. I’m cutting it into 4 pieces. Three quarters of the Earth surface is water and only 1/4 is land. One half of it is habitable. The rest of the land is the deserts, mountains, frozen ice-caps and other places where people cannot live in. And now I’m cutting this half into four parts. It’s impossible to believe but only 1/32 gives us food and home. And it will be a catastrophe if we destroy it. I’d like you to think over this problem much more seriously and find out the ways to save our fragile planet.

With the help of this exercise we managed to recall our topical vocabulary and now the task is – you are to make your own sentences using our topical vocabulary.

It’s not a secret that we have a lot of ecological problems nowadays. We started speaking about them at the previous lesson and today we continue. We are to do something to protect our planet.
Maybe that is why there is a special day – Earth Day.
Earth Day
Many countries around the world celebrate Earth Day. It is a day that is meant to raise awareness and appreciation about the Earth's natural environment.
The first Earth Day was held in the USA. It was founded by United States Senator Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teaching - a sort of general educational forum or seminar. That was on April 22, 1970. While this first Earth Day was focused on the United States, an organization launched by Denis Hayes, who was the original national coordinator in 1970, took it international in 1990 and organized events in 141 nations.
Earth Day is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network, and is celebrated in more than 175 countries every year. Numerous communities celebrate Earth Week, an entire week of activities focused on environmental issues. In 2009, the United Nations designated April 22 International Mother Earth Day.
