Everyone wants to live in a clean and beautiful place where one can have a good time, relax, walk along the streets. Environmental problem has become a global one in the world nowadays. I think so, because when you visit our home place you can see a lot of ecological problems there.

We’ve got a “wonderful” sugar plant which gives us not only sweet life but terrible and horrible disasters.

When the season of its work comes a great number of big lorries stand along the street. It is the great difficulty for traffic in our village and very dangerous for life of all local inhabitants.

Thanks to this enterprise we have got terrible roads, dust, noisy, air and water pollution.

Our sugar plant exhausts its harmful waste into former beautiful ponds of Kapitanivka. Nowadays we have no opportunity to swim, to sunburn, to play with children and pets or simply to breath with fresh air due to stinking rank smell.

Certainly our president does everything possible to join our country to European Union but we think that our nation has not enough level of ecological and social culture.

Due to our mentality practically every person in our village throw the garbage just some meters from their houses. You often can see bottles, papers, packs, tins, cans, cigarette’s packs and matches’ boxes.

A striking example of our indifference to our environment and ourselves is a big litter bag in the center of our village.

Let’s compare wonderful European views and terrible Ukrainian reality. As we see our dreams of European future may come true in 1-2centuries.

If our village authorities, as world local and national governments in civilized countries do, put bins everywhere in our local streets and assign high fines and taxes, none drop litter on the ground.

I think three typical British R’s save Ukraine if each of us try to do the best for our environment.

But remember: the most dangerous pollution of the soul. Keep your souls clean! Don’t pollute them with anger, envy or selfishness. And the world will be a better place to live!
