Subject: Excursion around Ukraine

Objectives:

Vocabulary: To revise and practice vocabulary related to travel, landmarks, and describing places (e.g., ancient, historical, picturesque, landmark, attraction, explore, visit, famous for, located in, breathtaking view).                                                                  Listening: To develop listening comprehension skills by understanding descriptions of Ukrainian landmarks.                                                                                               Speaking: To improve speaking skills through discussions and presentations about favorite places in Ukraine.                                                                                        Reading: To enhance reading comprehension by extracting information from texts about Ukrainian attractions.                                                                                             Grammar: To review and use Past Simple (for describing past visits) and Present Simple (for general facts about places).                                                                                       Cultural Awareness: To foster appreciation for the history, culture, and diversity of Ukraine.

Materials:

• Map of Ukraine
• Images or videos of Ukrainian landmarks (Kyiv, Lviv, Carpathian Mountains, Odesa, etc.)
• Audio recordings describing landmarks (or online resources)
• Handouts with texts and tasks
• Interactive whiteboard (optional)

1. Greeting and Warm-up:Teacher greets students and introduces the lesson topic.Teacher: "Good morning, everyone! Today, we're going on a virtual tour of Ukraine. Get ready to explore!"
2. Brainstorming:The teacher initiates a class discussion.Teacher: "What places in Ukraine have you heard of? What comes to mind when you think of Ukraine?"(Mentimeter-Word Cloud).(Students write their ideas)
3. Setting the Scene:The teacher uses a map and visuals.Teacher: "Ukraine is a large and diverse country with a rich history and many beautiful places. We'll be visiting some of them today."

II. Main Activities

1. Listen carefully."                            (Play video recordings. Be ready to speak about all the places that were mentioned in the video and provide with some more information).
2. 3. Speaking Activity: "My Favorite Place" (15 minutes):Students discuss their favourite places.Teacher: "Now, let's talk! Imagine that you are now on an excursion around Ukraine and your friend asked you to make a short video about your favourite place in Ukraine – a place you've been to recently" (Students make videos.)

III. Consolidation and Extension

1.Wrap-up: The teacher summarizes the lesson and assigns homework.Teacher: "Today, we explored some amazing places in Ukraine. For homework, I'd like you to..."

2. Homework :

1. Research one of the places and prepare a short presentation.
2. Write a paragraph describing your dream trip to Ukraine.
3. Create a travel brochure for a Ukrainian city.
